Present: Trustees Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Absent: Trustee Downey President Anderson ~n the Chair. Clerk present The minut®s of the meetings of Nov 12 and 13 wars read and ap- proved as read Writ com Applications for positions as traffic officers by the following parsons were read: Aubrey L Gauldin, Elmer W Stein, Lewis L Voigt, A E Egge, G H Rudolph. An application for re-instatement ~~ City Mar- . steal by E M Erkfitz was also presented and read. On motion by Trustes Tweedy seconded by Trustee Gordy these were filed Unf bus A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance declaring the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood to order the opening, widening and extending of certain streets and av nu in said City of Lynwood," was read for the third time, A motiy~ustee Gordy sec- onded by Trustes Tweedy that sarhe bs declared read for the third time and placed on final passage, whereupon said Ordinance being Ordinance No 46 of the City of Lynwood was passed by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: Trustee Downey A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood ordering the opening, widening and extending of certain streets and alleys in the City of Lynwood, California, in the manner con~smplated by Ordinance No 43 of said City," was read for the third time. A motion was made by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trus- ' tee Gordy that same be declared read for the third time and placed on final passage, whereupon said Ordinance being Ordinance No 47 of the City of Lynwood was passed by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gordy Tweedy Resd Anderson Noss: None Absent: Trustes Downey This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests. on the assessment to pay the costs and expanses of the work of im- provement under Resolution of Intention No 202, s motion was made end carried that said hearing be continued to Wednesday Non 26. This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests on the assessment to pay the costs and expanses of the work of im- provement under Resolution of Intention No 1;92, the Clerk announced that no protests were on-file, whereupon the President of the Bard inquired if any persond present desired to be heard and no person rs-~ sponding a motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustes Reed that the .assessment be confirmed and Street Superintendent be instructed to sign the warrant was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: Trustee Downey ~~ Althouse made a report to the Board regarding a map of the City, stating that same could be made at a total cost of X400. Mr Willard spoke on the necessity of en up-to-date map. A motion by Trus- tes Gordy seconded by Trustee Tweedy that the City Engineer be instruct ed to prepare a complete map of the City at a cost not to exceed X400 for treeing and photography, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Gerdy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent : Trustee Downey New Bus Mr G C Hotz addressed the Board regarding the proposed Municipal Christmas Tree asking that the City purchase the tree and furnish plat- form for same. Mr J F Watkins stated that he would furnish a tree° at wholesale price. A motion by Trustes Tweedy seconded b Trustes Gordy that the City purchase a tree's.t a cost not to exceed 25, was carried by the following vmte: Ayes: Trustees Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noss: None Absent: Trustee Downey A Resolution entitled "A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood relating to demand by the City of Lynwood, Los Angeles County, for its proportion of the Road Fund in certain annexed territory," was read. On motion by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee Gordy said Resolution being Resolution No 236 of the City of Lynwood ~~=, ~r :.,.~ ~. was adopted bar the following vote Ayes: Trustees Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: Trustee Downey Trustee Tweedy stated that the present temporary City Marshal . was acting in that capacity illegally inasmuch as he had furnished no bond as required by law, and asked what action was in contemplation. The City Atty explained the necessity of the City Marshal furnishing a bond. The President stated that the Board would attend to the matter. Mr Chas S Woods asked what action might be expected regarding ,,,,,,,~ the police department. Mr Goodwin asked whether or not the petition asking €he r_e-instatement of EM Erkfitz as City Marshal had been tabled indefinitely or not.
