Call meeting Nov 22 1924

Pursuant to the Call of President Anderson the Board of Trus-
tees of the City of Lynwood met in Call meeting at the City Hail 205 `1'd
Mulford Ave raturday A3ov 22 1924 at 10 am.
Present: Trustees Downey Gordy '.Tweedy Reed Anderson
Absent : P1cne
President Anderson in the Chair. Clerk present
The r~~,din~ of the minutes of Nov 19 was omitted
The President explained that the object rf the meeting was to
fill vacancies existing in the police department.
A communication was read from former City Marshal Erkfitz
stating that if he had done anything not in accord with the wishes of
the Board that he wished to apologize, and asked re-instatement. `T'his
was accepted and filed
A.:motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee 'T'weedy that th
Board appoint a City Marshal and that the said appointee recommend three
persons for traffic officers subject to the approval of the Board, was
carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson
Noes: None
Absent : Ivone
Trustee Downey nominated L J Haslaur and Trustee Tweedy nomi-
nated H E Mangold, after which a motion was made and carried that nomi-
nations be closed
A moticn was made and carried that the Board proceed to make
the appointment by secret ballot. ,Tlie result of the first ballot was
found and declared by the Clerk to be as follows: Haslaur 4, Mangold 1.
Whereupon the following resolution was offered by Trustee Reed: Resolved
by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood that L J Haslaur having
been declared the choice of the said Board as indicated by the result of
the ballot taken for that purpose,.therefore be it resolved that L J
Haslaur be and is hereby appointed as City Marshal to hold office during
the pleasure of the said Board of Trustees. A motion by Trustee Gordy
seconded by Trustee Downey that said Resolution be adopted, was carded
by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson

The newly appointed City Marshal presented the names of the
following persons and recommended that they be appointed as traffic of-
ficers of ,the City of Lynwood: E M Erkfitz, N S Anderson, M F Reed.
thereupon a mot-ion by Trustee Downey seconded by Trustee Gcirc~~* that> ;~:M~rI±
Fitz, N S Anderson and M F Reed be appointed as traffic officers of the
City of Lynwood to hold off ice during the pleasure of the Board,,was
carried by the following vote
Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson
Noes: None
Absent: None
A Atew Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the hoard of Trus-
tees of the City of Lynwood amending Section 6 of Ordinance No 31 of the
said City of Lynwood," was read. A motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by
Trustee Tweedy that said Ordinance be declared read for the first time
and laid over for second reading, was carried by the following vote:

Noes: None

The following demands were audited:

A motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee Reed that the
above demands be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for same, was car-
ried by the follcwin g vote:
Ayes: Trustees Downey Gerdy Tweedy Reed Anderson
Aloes : None
Absent: None.
On motion Bard adjourned to meet Wednesday Nov 26 1924 at
7:30 pm
