Clerk present The minutes of the meetings of Nov 19 and 22 were read and approved as read ZNrit Coms A Aetition signed by interested property owners in the vici-~ pity of Lvts 35 and 36 block 22 asking that the old structure on said lets be declared a fire menace and removed from the premises, was read. A motion by Trustee Downey seconded by Trustee Tweedy that the matter be =~ referred to the City Atty with. instructions to start proceedings tv elimi- nate said menace at once, was carried by the fallowing vote: Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Z'weddy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: None Spl Com Trustee Downey, as Chairman of Fire Committee, stated that said Committee would view various kinds of fire-fighting apparatus €~iday Nov 28, and would nv doubt recommend that the City purchase an engine air once. Unf Bus A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lvn~rood amending Section 6 of Ordinance No 31 of the said City of Lynwood," was read for the second time. A motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee `t'~-eedy that same be declared read for the second time aid taken up for third reading, was carried by the following vote: 1~~res : Trustees Do~vn.ey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: None Ndhereupori said Ordinance was read for the third and last time and on motion bu Trustee P..owney seconded by Trustee Gordy said Ordinance was declared read far the third and last time and placed on final passage. Thereupon said Ordinance being Ordinance No 48 of the Cit~,r of LynNOOd, was passed by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson -.~ N©es: None Absent: None The hearing of protests on the assessment to'pay~the costs -~ and ex-?enses of the work.of improvement :.done under; fte~olution of Inten- tion No 202 having been laid over to this time, the Clerk announced that no protests were on file, whereupon the President inquired if any persons present desired to be heard and no x~erson responding a motion by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee Reed that the assessment be confirmed and St Supt be instructed to sign warrant, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson ' Noes : ?lone .. Absent: None ~~ This being the time and place set for the receiving of sealed bids or proposals for the work of improvement as contemp-fated under Reso- lution of Intention No 222 the Clerk announced that certain bids were on file. A motion was duly made and carried that the Clerk open, examine and publicly declare all bids on file. 51Jhereupon the Clerk opened, ex- amined and publicly declared. bids from the following persons or firms: J I) Phillips, J H Ellerscn Co, Allied Con~bruction Co, 0 tT ,iJliracle and Hall-Johnson ~bo. On motion duly made and carried these bids were referred to the Cit~r Engr for recommendaticn. New Bus A motion b~,r Trustee Downey seconded by Trustee Gordy that a committee be appointed with authority to purchase a filing cabinet for the use of the Cit~r Treasurer, was carried by the following vo~'e: Ayes: ~1'rustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson """ Noes: None ~' Absent: None The Chair appointed Trustees Downey and Gordy as such com- mittee. Mr Ray Crystal protested the erection of a garage on lot 87 tract 2551, stating that same was pat being ~3aeed fifty feet from the front line of said let as required bTr the deed restrictions and asked that restrictions be enforced. A motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee Downey that the building inspector be instructed to revoke the building permit covering this construction, was carried. 'dater Commissioner ('~ordy spoke on the necesGity of purchasing fire-hydrants and asked that same be purchased fr9m the general fund. A motion by Trustee Reed seconded by Trustee Downey that the City purchase 24 fire-hydrants baying for same out of the general fund, was carried by the following vote Ayes: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson Noes: None Absent: iJone Trustee Reed reported that a mild epidemic was prevalent on San Jose St. The Sanitation Officer was ordered to investigate this at once. ?Ygr ~f?ark Campbell asked that his garage be designated as the place for storing all cars held by the police department. This was left to the descretion of the City Marshal. The bids for the work of improvement under Resolution of In- tention No 222 having been returned to the Board by the City Fngr with the statement that the bid of Hall-Johnson Co had been found to be the lowest and recommended that said Company be awarded the con- tract, a Resolution offered by Trustee Reed entitled "A Resolution of award of contract for the improvement of portions of Lynwood Road, Louise .Street, Burton ,venue, Carlin Avenue, E~a.clid Avenue, Belle Vernon Boulevard and Long Beaeh Boulevard (sometimes known as Belle Vernon Boulevard), in the City of Lynwood, California," was read.
