The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in regular

at 7:30 nm.
Present: Trustees Downey Gordy Tweedy Reed Anderson
Absent: None

'g'rit Coms A communication from D Erife asking for a refund of `4.50,
claiming that he was put to that much extra expense on account of
ex~City Marshal Erkfitz compelling him to hire a licensed cement con- '~
tractor. This was referred to Trustee Reed and the City t';tty, .

Petitions asking that a re-call election be held for the pur-
pose of submitting the question of re-calling Trustees Downey, Reed
and Anderson to the qualified electors of the City were read and re-
ferred to the City Clerk for certification
A commmunication from the City Sanitation Officer regarding
dairies in the City, vvas read. Said officer stating that so long as a
dairy ecmplied with sanitation requirements that same could not be de-
clared a nuisance. This was referred to the Cit~,* Atty
Comrs Police Commis4ioner Downey stated that there were a number of
extra police badges out-standing and asked that the Clerk be instructed
to call same in. The Clerk was so instructed
E F Baggott explained the progress being made in organizing a
volunteer fire department, and. stated that a membership of 30 was con-
templated. Also promised a full report at the next meeting ~f the Board.
bus This being the time and place set for the receiving, of sealed
bids or proposals for the work of improvement as contemplated under Reso-
lution of Intention No 229 the. Clerk announced that certain bids were
on file. Un motion duly made and carried the Clerk was instructed to
open, examine and publicly declare all bids on file, whereupon the Clerk
opened, examined and publicly declardd bids from the following persons
or firms:l,U. Brand.. J H Ellerson Co and Hall-Johnson Co. On motion
made and car~ied these bids were referred to the City Engr for recom-
mendation.

accepted and ordered filed
The Board having under contemplation the purchase, or leas-
ing, of a fire engine this matter was taken up. The Sea grave Compari~r
raving submitted a lease agreement covering a type of fire engine
known as a "Suburbanite" the same eras read, t~ motion by Trustee Downey ~-
seconded bT~ Trustee Gordy that the Board of Trustees as the governing.
body of the City of Lynwood enter into contract with the Sea~rave Com-
pany for the leasing, of a certain fire-fighting engine known as a "Sub-,
urbanite;" with the brivilege of _rurcnasing same, and that. the Presi-
dent of the B and be authorised to sign such contract in the name of
the City of Lynwood, cvas carried by the following vote
