The minutes of the meetings of Jan 14 and 16 were read and ap-
proved as read
IInf bus This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests
"'~"" why bends should not be issued to cover the unpaid assessments in the
district known as Franklin St etal, under Resolution oP Intention No
-- 202, the Clerk announced that no protests were on file, and no persons
present protesting, a Resolution entitled "A Resolution of the Board
of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, California, relating to the issuanc
of street improvement bonds pursuant to Resolution of Intention No 202,
determining the amount sf unpaid assessments, prescribing the denomina-
ti®ns of such bonds and providing for their issuance," was read. On mo-
tian made and seconded, said Resolution being Resolution No ~ of the,
City of Lynwood, was adopted by the fallowing vote:

Noes: None
Absent: None
Temporary Fire Chief Roberts spoke on the need of more fire h®s~
and asked that same be supplied. The President referred the matter to
the Commissioner of Fire and Police.
The President appointed Trustee Schouten as C®mmissioner ®f
Streets and darks.
The President appointed Trustee Hatz as Commissioner of Water
and Lights.
The City Attmrne~ recommended that fi~rtt~er investigation bf the
circulation and presentation of certain recall petitions be p~stpaned
one week
The President stated that it was his wish that £~irther investi-
.- gati®n be postponed indefinitely.
A m0tia~n by Trustee Zeiser seconded by Trustee Sch®uten that
further investigation of the circulation and presentation of certain
recall petiti®ns, now pending before the Board, be postponed indefinite:

Absent: None
This being the time set for the City Treasurer to make a full
report covering his off ice. he reported that he had been unable to com-
pile same to date.
Trustee Tweedy asked why the flag had not. been raised recently,
and stated that it was his wish that same be raised and lowered at the
proper time each day. This was referred to the Police Commissioner.

A motion by Trustee Zeiser seconded by Trustee Schouten that
the above demands be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for same, was
carried by the following vats:

New Bus Trustee ?eiser asked what was being done regarding the re-
pairing of Josephine St where excavations had been made by the So
Cal Gas Co. This was referred to the Street Commissioner.
Mr L J Morgan asked why the south Blvd sign was not being
illuminated lately. This was referred to the Police Commissioner.
President Plunkett spoke regarding the possible necessity
of hiring extra police to investigate the crime committed Thursday
night, Jan 15, and asked that authority be granted for same. A motion
by Trustee Hotz seconded by Trustee Schouten that the Police Commis-
sioner and City Marshal be authorized and instructed to retain and em-
ploy such additional police officers and investigators as may be nec-
essary in ptraperly investigating and securing evidence against the per-
son, or persons, responsible for the act of criminal libel which was
committed near the City Hall on the 16th or 17th day of January, 1925.

Trustee Schouten spoke on the dangerous condition existing `
at the Pacific Electric crossing at Mod~eska station owing to the in-
creased traffic, the absence of wig-wags, and the fact that P E cars
did not stop at the station unless flagged. This was referred to the
Commissioner of Health and Safety
