Call Meeting Jan. 27, 1925. ~~~
Pursuant to the Call of President pro tam Schouten, the Board
of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in Call session at the City Hall
205 @Yest Mulford Ave, Tuesday, Jan. 2?, 1925, at 3:00 o'clock pm.
Present: Trustees Tweedy Anderson Hotz Schouten
Absent: None
President pro tam Schouten in the Chair. Clerk
present.
• Om motion made and carried the reading of the minutes of the
,-.. meetings of Jan 23 and 24 was omitted
A copy of the Call was read, said Call being as follows: "You
are hereby notified that I have called a special meeting of the Board of
Trustees of the City of Lynwood to be held at the Lynwood City Hall on
Tuesday, Jan 27 1925 at the hour of 3:00 o'clock pm, for the purpose of
considering and taking such action as the Board mfy deem advisable con-
cerning the Rrit of Mandate issued by the Superior Court of Los Angeles
County in Action No 16026?; and to transact such other business as may
legally come before said Board at said time."
The President pro tam stated that nominations for filling the
vacan~sy on the B and would be accepted.
Trustee Anderson placed in nomination the name of F M Downey.
Trustee Hotz placed in nomination the name of G E Sherer.
Trustee Tweedy placed in nomination the name of ~ R Martin.
Trustee Anderson seconded the nomination of G E Sherer, and no
other norninatio¢ receiving a second, George E Sharer was elected as a
member of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood to fill the va-
cancy created b~ the resignation of H E Zeiler, by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Tweedy Anderson Hotz Schouten
Noes: None
• Absent: None
Mr Sherer was then sworn in by the Clerk and took his seat as a
memiaer of the Board
The President pro tem then declared a recess until the arrival
of the City Attorney

A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Tweedy that the
Clerk be instructed to draw a resolution calling a special election in
compliance with the or~Elr of the Superior Court od Lps Angeles County
in Action No 16026?, was lost by the following note:
Ayes: Trustees Tweedy Anderson
Noes: Trustees Hotz Sherer Schouten
Absent: None
A Resolution offered by Trustee Hotz, entitled "Resolution of
the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, Cal., authorizing, empow-
ering and directing the City Attorney to take an appeal from the decis-
ion of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in Action No 18026?,'~
was read. On motion by Trustee Hotz seconded by Trustee Sharer, said
Resolution being Resolution No 241 of the City of Lynwood, was adopted
by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Hotz Sherer Schouten
Noes: Trustees Tweedy Anderson
Absent: None
A Resolution offered by Trustee Hotz, entitled "Resolution of
the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood declaring that certain ser-
vices^to be pprforrned by the City Attorney are extra and additional to
his usual services and fixing the compensation to be paid him therefor,"
was read. On motion by Trustee Hotz seconded by Trustee Sherer, said
.-- Resolution being Resolution No 242 of the City of Lynwood, was adopted
by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Hotz Sherer Schouten
Noes: Trustees Tweedy Anderson
Absent : None
The President pra tam appointed Trustee Sharer as Commissioner
of Fire anal Police
