The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in regular
session at the C ity Ball 205 Ini n4ulford Ave l~dednesday Td2ch 18 1925 at
7:30 pm

'4'Vrit Coms A communication was read from Dr J L Pomeroy regarding the ap-
x~ointment of e_ Health Officer for the Citv.
A communication was read from Dr Bell regarding same.
Oral Coms Dr J L Pomeroy, County Health Officer, addressed the Board re-
lative to matters pertaining to the Health Department of the City, ex-
plaining the advantages of County supervision of said department, and
specified what services might be expected under County supervision,
and approximate cost of same. He also tendered an agreement covering
same. A motion was made a~.~d carried that the President appoint a com-
mittee to investigate and report on this matter. The President appoint-
ed as such committee, ~i'rustees Hotz, Anderson, Sherer, Tweedy.
Spl Com Trustee Sherer, reporting for the committee appointed to con-
struct a fire engine house and ,jail, stated that same was under con-
struction. 'T'rustee ~'otz, also a member of said committee, reported that
the steel ca ges puruosed to be purchased from the City of Long Beach
would not be available until May, at which time same could be purchased
at the"rate of x'225 for 2 complete ca ges, including toilets, etc.
Unf bus A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance repealing Section Teo 3
of Ordinance Tdo 31, and amending said Ordinance No 31 by adding thereto
a new Section to be known as 'Section Teo 3'," was read for the third and
last time. A motion was made by Trustee Sherer seconded by Trustee Hotz
that said Ordinance be declared read f'or the third and last time and
placed upon final passage. v'Jhereupon said Ordinance being Ordinance No
53 of the City rf Lynwood eras passed by the following vote:

A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Lynwood
declaring that certain services to be performed by the City Attorney
are extra and additional to his usual services, and fixing the extra
compensation to be paid him therefor," was read for the third and last
time. A motion was made by Trustee Sherer seconded by Trustee Hotz that
said Ordinance be declared read fcr the third and last time and placed
upon final passage. '~Ihereupon said Ordinance being Ordinance No 54 of
the City of Ltimwood eras passed by- tY~e follavring vote:

A new Ordinance entitled "An Crdinance of the Board of 'Trustees
of the City of Lynwood, Cal . , repealing and annulling Ordinance Pao 34 of
the City of Lynwood," was read for the second time. E"~ motion by Trustee
Hotz seconded by Trustee Sherer that said Ordinance be declared read for
the second time and laid over for third reading and final passage, was
carried by the following vole

The Board 'Having received requests from certain ~nteTested per-
sons that street improvements be done on portions of Josephine St Vir-
ginia St Agnes St ~ sther St and the first alley southerly of Lynv~ od
Road, as contemplated under Resolution of Intention No 229. A motion by
Trustee ~`.nderson seconded by Trustee Hotz that the City Clerk be inst~~~n
rutted to advertise in 'E'Yie Ls,*nwood Tribune for sealed bids, or propos-
als, for doing the work of improvement as specified under Resolution of
Intention I~Jo .229, was carriod by th.e following vole:

As per agreement the' CityT~h gineer tendered a rnap showing a
complete numbering system for the City in conformity with the County.
A motion by Trustee 'weedy seconded by Trustee Sherer that, same be ac-
cepted, was carried b;~ the following vote:

The ~3oard having in contemplation the formation of a lighting
district to comprise the entire City. A Resolution entitled "A Reso-
lution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, declaring
their intention to orddr the furnishing of Electric street lighting
service on certain streets in the City of Lynwood for a period of two
,years," was read. On motion made and seconded said Resolution being
Resolution No 245 of the Cit-~ of Lynwood was adooted by the following
vote:

The P3oard having decided'to abandon ~h8 condemnation proce~d-
ngs started under the Act of 1903 and institute same under the pct
of 1889, an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the Gity of Lynwood
repealing and abandoning Ordinances Pdumbered 43 and 46 of said City,
and all proceedings had thereunder," was read for the first time. A
motion by Trustee Hotz seconded by Trustee Sherer that said Ordi-
nance be declared read for the first time and ta~sdn^~°n.p for second
reading, was carried by the following vole:

thereupon said Ordinance was read For the second time. A motion
by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Hotz that. same be declared
read for the second time and laid over for third reading; and final
passage, was carried bq the following vote:

New Bus Street Commissioner Sherer stated that the street department
needed certain equipment, namely: a horse, harness, cultivatoE, con-
crete mixer, etc., and asked for authority to purchase same. A motion
by ~i'rustee Hotz seconded by Trustee Sherer that the Street Gommission
er be authorized to purchase needed equipment for the Street Depart-
ment in a sum not to exceed x'299, was carried by the following vote:

E Shutz be employed as assistant Bookkeeper at a salary of a~125 per
month, was carried by the following vote

Fire Commissioner Hotz spoke on the necessity of maintaining
a man in charge of the fire engine during the night, and stated that
this could done by allowing :75 per month for this service and fur-
nishing enough other employment for this rnan to make a reasonable
monthly wage; and asked for authority to employ a man for this pur-
pose. A motion by Trustee Sherer seconded by Trustee Anderson that
Trustee Hotz be authorized to employ a man at a salary of x'75 per
month to take charge of the fire engine, was carried bsT the follow-
ing vote:

A motion by Trustee Hotz seconded by Trustee Sherer that the
above demands be allowed and warrants ordered drawn for same, was
carried by the follawirzg vote: Ayes: Trustees Hotz Anderson Sherer
Schouten. P~oes: Trustee Tweedy. Absent: None.

pm, for the purpose of taking action on certain street improve-

A diagram showing the district to be assessed to pay
the costs and e~:penses of the v~rork of improvement contemplated
under Resolution of Intention T1o 222 in the district known as
L~rnwood Road et al streets, having been submitted to the Board
btT the City rn ~ineer, on motion made and carried said Diagram
was approved.
