The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in regu-

The minutes of the meetings of April 15, 22, and 24 were
read and approved as read
Writ Cbzns A communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund
regarding insurance for volunteer fire-men was read and referred to the
Clerk
A communication from Elects A Kerr protesting against the
condemnation of a portion of Lot 1046 Tract 3025 for drainage purposes
was read and referred to the City Engineer
A communication from the Lynwood Civic Association asking
that a"clean up" week be designated, was referred t~ the Commissioner
of Health ~ Safetl
1~ request from the Municipal Service Co for permission to
install a "Marbelite Electrolier" on Long Beach Blvd for demonstration
purposes, was granted
A communication from Edward Ingram asking for a public re-
port covering detective service for which #327.75 was paid, was read.
The Pr~eaident stated that this was a matter which could, and should
not be made public
A demand was read from E M Erkfitz for ~~151.60 claimed by
him as balance of salary due far the month of February. This was filed.
A petition signed by certain property owners on W Burton
Avenue, asking that the unimproved portion of that tivenue be improved
by 6" concrete paving, was referred to the City Engineer with instruct-
ions to prepare proper proceedings
New Bus Trustees Tweedy, Hutchinson and Sherer spoke on the number
of dogs running loose throughout the City, the danger from rabies and
the necessity of confining all dogs on the owner's premises unless
muzzled. 0~ motion by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee Anderson the
City Marshal was instructed to enforce Section 7 Ordinance 6 until fur-
ther instructed
A motion by Trustee Sherer seconded by Trustee Anderson
that the 'Water Clerk be paid a salary of X100.00 per month beginning
Rpril 1 2925, was carried bg the following vote:
ayes: Trustees Anderson Hutchinson Sherer Tweedy Schouten

Absent: None
A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Hutchin-
son that the Street Commissioner be authorized and empowered to expend
a sum not in excess of X299.00 in the further construction of the St
Improvement material yard, was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson Hutchinson Sherer Schouten
Noes: Trustee Tweedy
Absent: None
Trustee Tweedy spoke regarding a certain drainage gutter
on the North Roadway of East F'ernwood Ave, stating that same was too
deep considering its width, and asked that same be improved. This was
referred to the Street Commissioner
A map of Tract 7815, submitted to the Board in accord-
ance with Chapter 592 of the Statutes of 1921, was approved and ordered
returned to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County
A map of Tract 7797, .submitted to the Board in accordance
with Chapter 592 of the Statutes of 1921, was approved and ordered re-
turned to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County
The Board deeming it necessary to rent a calculating ma-
chine for the use of the Treasurer's office, a motion by Trustee Ander-
son seconded by Trustee Hutchinson that the President be authorized to
sign a lease for same in the name of the City at a monthly rental of
X15, was carried by the following vote:

The monthly reports of the Water and City Clerk were read
and accepted

Certain Referendum Petitions covering Ordinances Nos 53 and
54, Were returned to the Board With the Clerk's certificate attached.
These petitions having been referred to the City Attorney for recom-
mendation, he stated that it was his opinion that Ordinances Nos 53
and 54, being govermental Ordinances, did not come within the provis-
ions of the Referendum Law, and recommended that said petitions be
plated on file and r,6~ action taken. A motion by Trustee Sherer second-
ed by Trustee Hutchinson that the Referendum petitions be placed on
file for public record, was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Anderson Hutchinson Sherer Schouten
Noes: None
Absent: None
Not voting: Trustee TAeedy
On motion made and serried the City Treasurer was instructed
to call in enough bonds for the retirement vt the street improvement
assessment against Lots 424-5-6-? tract 2551, the same being the lot$
recently purchased upon which to construct a materiel yard
