Tha Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in regular

The minutes of the meetings of June 3 and 6 were read and ap-
proved as read
Coms A communication from Rosemonde Rae 1Rright, vice-president of
American Animal Defense League, regarding the Dog Pound, was read and
laid over to new business
Applications for positions as Motorcycle Officers by L D Lamb
and S 141 Coulter wE~ee read and filed
A communication from the Holly Sugar Corp regarding the re-
moval of the old beet dump was read and laid over until the next meetin
A communication from A P Norris regarding; the seizure by the
Police Dept of certain fruit juices owned by him, was read. ~1 motion
by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Tweedy that same be returned to
the said A P idorris, was carried
A protest against any and all improvements at the present time
by Mrs L R Daugherty was read and filed
A request for a permit to open and operate a Social and Recre-
ational Club, for the operation of kailliards and pocket billiards, soft
drinks, etc, at 3239 Mulford Ave, was received. A~motion by Trustee
Anderson seconded by Trustee Sherer that this permit be granted, was
carried
A protest against the amount of the assessment for public im-
provement as contemplated under Resolution No 245 by Lewis ?' Litt,le-
f field eras read and filed
Coms Rosemonde Rae 'Aright addressed the Board regarding the Dog
Pound, suggesting certain improvements. This was referred to the Com-
missianer of Health and Safety
Trustee Tweedy stated that it was his opinion that the rigid
enforcement of the dog ordinance regarding the conf inement of dogs was
no longer necessary. A motion by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee
Anderson that dogs be allowed to run loose, was carried
bus A new Ordinance entitled "An Ordinanceof the Board of Trustee
of the City of Lynwood, Cal., repealing and annulling Section 10 of Ord
Hance No 40, and adding; thereto certain Sections to be known as Section
10 and 101," was read for the second time. A motion that said Ordinance
be declared read for the second time anti taken up for third reading and
final passage, was carried. Thereupon said Ordinance was read for the
third time. A motion was made and seconded that said Crdinance be de-
clared read for the third ar~d last time and placed upon final passage,
whereupon said Ordinance being: Ordinance 1`?0 58 was passed by the follow
ing vote

This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests
or objections to the work of improvement as contemplated under Resolu-
tion of Intention No 254, the Clerk announced that there were no pro-
tests on file, whereupon the President inquired if any persons present
desired to be heard, and no person responding a Resolution entitled "A
Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood ordering the
imprc~,tement of a portion of Burton Avenue in the City of Lynwood, Cali-
fornia," was read. On mction by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee
Sherer said Resolution being Resolution I~To 258 was adopted by the fol-
lowing vote:

Absent: None
This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests
against the amount of the assessment to pay the costs of improvement
as contemplated by Resolution PIo 245, the Clerk announced that there
was one protest on file, said protest being read in open meeting. The
President of the Board inquired if any interested persons present de-
sired to be heard, and ail interested persons w88a given full oppor-
tunity to appear before said Board of Trustees and present their p~o-
tests or objections, and the Board of Trustees having; heard and consid-
ered all such protests or objections, a Resolution entitled "A Resalu-

tion No 245 of said City," was read. On motion by Trustee Tweedy sec-
onded by Trustee Anderson said Resolution being Resolution Plo 259
was adopted by the followixl~ vote:

A motion was made and carried that the hearing on the improve-
ment as contemplated by Resolution of Intention No 245 'oe continued
until the next meeting ""'
A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Tweeds that
the City Treasurer be instructed to make all necessary preparations
for the collection of the various assessments to pay the costs and
expenses of the work of improvement as contemplated by Resolution
of Intention Alo 245, was carried.
This being the time and place set for the hearing of protests
or objections against the work of improvement or the district to be
assessed to pay the costs and expenses of said improvement as con-
templated by Resolution of Intention No 247, the Clerk announced
that certain protests were on file, and said protests having been
read in open meei.ing and all objections by interested persons pros-
ent having been heard, a motion by Trustee Sherer seconded by Trus-
tee Anderson that all objections be over-ruled and denied, was car-
ried by the following vote:

Absent: None
New Bus A map of Tract 8300 submitted to the Board in accordance with ,
the provisions of Chapter 349 of the 1919 Statutes was approved and
or4ered returned to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles Co
A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Hutchinson
that the off ice of City Marshal be declared vacant was carried by
the following vote:

A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Tweedy that
C= ~. Thierer be appointed temporary City Marshal was carried by .the

A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Sherer that
the City Clerk be authorized and instructed to draw a warrant on the
('=eneral Fund for the payment in full of salary due H B Johnson as
City Pdarshal to date amounting; to ~~99.45, and to request the return
of all City property in the possession of said H B Johnson, was car-
ried by the following; vote: '

A motion was made and carried that a certain Ford Coupe con-
f iscated by the ?'olice Department, be stored in the City ,yard and
not used, was carried

A motion by Trustee Anderson seconded by Trustee Sherer that the
above demands be allowed with the exception of No 1269 in favor of
Miss Lone McIntosh and No 1270 in favor of H B Johnson. and warrants
ordered drawn for same, was carried by the following vote
