Present: TrusteES Gordy ~Zeed Downey f'~bse22t : Trustees Tweedy Hutchinson President pro tem Downey in the Chair. Clerk present The president explained that the object of the adjourned meeting was for further consideration of the Water Suprly System. Trustee Gordy stated that he had investigated the booster pump idea and d3.d not favor the idea of ihstallin~ same to work in conjunction with the pump now installed. He further stated that it was his opinion that a pump similar to the one in operation at Plant No 3 should be purchased. and asked that further cansideration of this matter be deferred until the regular meeting to be held at "7:30 pm this date. Present: Trustees Tweedy Gordy Hutchinson Reed Absent: Trustee Downey City Atty and Clerk present Trustee Resd elected President pro tem The minutes of the meetings of June 17, 20, 30 and July i were read, corrected and approved as corrected. ~1rit Coms A communication was road from C r<~ Donk protesting a~;ainst the noise created by the exhaust of the engine at P1o 3 Flant. Trustee Tweedy expressed himself as being in favor of installing an electric motor at said ?'lent. Trustee Hutchinson said that owing to the necessary expense of installing: new machinery at Plar_t No l it was his opinion that the expense of installing; an electric motor at Plaf~t No 3 should not be in- ci~.rred a this time. And asked that the people in the vicinity of said Plant No 3 bear vrith the annoyance £er the time being. A request for permission to establish and maintain an TJnder- taking Parlor on Lot 1087 tract 3025, So Long; Beach Blvd, by John .C Lane, was read. A motion by Trustee Htitchizzson seconded by Trustee Tweedy that permission be granted, was carried b~* the following, vote: ' Ayes: Trustees Tweedy Gordy Hutchinson Resd P1oes : P1one Absent: Trustee Downey Applications by Glen '~! Bell and G A Llewellyn for positions as police officers were read and filed. tlnf Bus The hearing on the improvement as contemplated by Resolution of Intention No 245 having been continued to this date, on motion made and carried same was continued to July 15 1925. Tide matter of the removal of the old beet dump was continued. Action on the purchase of pumping equipment for Plant No i to meet the emergency existing: by reason of the receding of the water level caused by the earth quake Juno `?9 having been laid over to this date this was now taken up. Acting 'dater Commissioner Gordy stated that after a thorough investigation his recommendation would be that the City purchase a ~'airbarlks-rlorse 75 Fn motor, a Cutler Hammer Automatic Starter and a Kimball deep well hump. This meeting with the approval of the Board a Resolution ent~,tled "A Resolution of the Board of Trus- tees of the CitzT of Lynwood declaring an emergency to exist and resoly- ing to erter into contract for the immediate installt£i~ion of certain humping equipment," was read. On motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee Hutchinson said Resolution being Resolution No 260 was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Tweedy Gordy Hutchinson Reed Noes: None Absent: Trustee Downey New Bus The monthly reports of the ',dater and City Clerks wore read and f i1ed. A communication from the Cit~r ~gineer regarding the working out of a plan for local sewers was read ar.d laid over to next meeting.
