The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in adjourned
regular meeting at the City Hall 205 Test Mulford Ave Wednesday Aug.
The reading of the minutes of the meeting of Aug 5 was omitted.
Courts Trustee Gordy reporting for the Lighting Committee stated that
the installation of a complete lighting system for the City was dis-
cussed at the Committee meeting held Aug 11, and stated that a full
report would not be made until after the Committee had obtained and
investigated figures on various types of lighting standards. Theae
to be obtained after the appd~ntment of a regular City Engineer which
would be done Aug 19.
Trustee Hutchinson spoke in regard to the proposed extention
of Santa Fe Ave, stating that various interested persons living in the
vicinity of the proposed highway had expressed a desire that a Com-
mittee be appointed to interview and act with the County Planning Com-
mission in this matter. The President appointed Trustees Reed Hutchin-
son and Gordy as such Committee.
Courts Police Commissioner Hutchinson presented a Police record form
and asked that the Police Department be supplied with same. A motion
by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee Reed that the President and Police
Commissioner be appointed as a committee with authority to purchase
necessary forms, was carried by the followin vote:

Noes: None
Absent: Trustee Tweedy
Trustee Gordy spoke about the necessity of installing a private
telephone line for the use of the Police Station and City Offices, and
asked that a committee be appointed to investigate and report in this
matter. The President appointed Trustees Hutchinson and Gordy as such
committee.
Oral Coms Mr Grant, representing the Foster & Kleister Sign Co, appeared
before the Board and spoke regarding the erection of their signs in
the City, stating that they would btrictly abide by the decision of
the Board in this matter; that they would dismantle the sign already
under construction if so desired, and offered to furnish transporta-
tion for the Board to Cities in the vicinity for the purpose of ob-
taining information in regard to how said Cities handled the sign
question. The President expressed the thanks of the Board for this
offer. A motion was made and carried that the President appoint two
members of the Board to act with himself as a Committee to visit
other Cities and ascertain their mode of proceedure rea~crding signs.
The President appointed Trustees Gordy and Reed as the other members
of the Committee.
