The F3oard of 'T'rustees of the Cit~T of Lynwood met in ad,otzrned re~u-
lar session at the City FTall 205 'nest Mulford Ave Thursday Sept 2,4 1.925 at
7:30 pm.

President Downey in the Chair.
The minutes of the meetings of Sept 16, 17 and 23 were read. A mo-
tion by Trustee Gordy that the I'ollowin~r clause he inserted in the mirn.ztes
.~-. of the meeting: of Sept 17 following? the motion in regard to the emplo;rment
of Attorneys Person Fc Rogers : "City Attorney '~~linbtzrn stated that no com-
pensation for the services of littornevs Person and Rogers would have to be
met bar the Cite of Lynwood, due to the fact that same would be coyered by
a ~`~250U bond filed by the plaintiffs in the action against tree Board."
Said motion upon being seconded by Trustee Reed was carried bar tY~e follow-

Otherwise the mirnztes were approved,
Oral Coms A B Gray protested against the practice by certain contractors of
lzsin~ ~idewralks upon which to mix concrete. The Street Commissioner stated
that he would attend to the matter.
Rcpt Comrs The 'Ft'ire~~ Commissioner recommended that a hose rack for the fire
engine be purchased. The President asked prd~ce of same, stating that he
was pat in favor of spendingr more mone~r than was absolutely necessary upon
fire equipment at this time. The Fire Commissioner stated that he would
abtain and submit x~r~ices .
The Health and `safety Commissioner stated that he would have the
weeds cut throughout the City if the Board would appropriate money for tha
purpose, and asked that said appropriation be made. The President-asked
that a meeting of the ~'Jeed Committee be held and recommendations from same
• be submitted to the Board.
.- ~Yfter discussing the failure to obtain the installation of a wi~-
wa~ at the Modieska Ave-P F. crossing, a motion was made and carried that
this matter be referred to the City Engineer.

i?nf bus On motion made and carried the hearing of protests on the work or
improvement contemplated under Resol~_~tion of Intention No 245 was continue
to the next re~~zlar meeting.

the work or improvement, as contemplated by Resolution of Intention No 265,
a Resolution entitled "A Resolution of the Board of `t'rustees of the City
of Lynwood, California, re;9ectin~ all bids on certain work and improvement
described in Resolution of Intention Pdo 265 of said F3oard," was read. TYie
City Attorney explained that said Resolution was drawn in ~onfermit.y with
the decision of the Superior Court in the cash of Duncan. and Tdorrish vs
the Board of 'i'rzzstees, said decision being that no fi_irther action could be
taken by the Board of Trustees in regard to awarding the contract for the
work or improvement under Resolution of Intention No 265 until the repub-
lication and re-posting of ~totices Inviting Sealed Proposals for doing sai~
work. The C~.tv Attorney stated that. ~.t was his opinion that the publication
and pasting had been done in e~le~al'mannvr.Oh motion by `t'rustee Reed sec-

A motion by Trustee Gord?* seconded try Trustee Reed that. the Clerk
be instructed to publish and post a Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals for
doing the work or improvement as contemplated by Resolution of Intention
No 265, was carried by the following vote:

of the Board. Sa3.d motion anon being seconded by Trustee Hutchinson
was carried by the following vote:

'rustoe Tweedy declined to vote, stating that the City had no,
money to spend in that manner.
Building: Inspector Be~rmer reported that he had been approached
by certain parties regarding tre :_establishment, of a Creamery on
Long Beach Blvd between Cedar and RRagnolia and asked the opinion of
the Board. A motion iras made and earried that a permit be granted
for tY~e building o~ said Creamery.
The President, asked treat the Cler?~ be instructed to notify all
City employes to meet with. the Board at the City Half T~aasday cept
29 1925 at '7:30 pm. 1, motion was made and carr9_ed that the Clerk
he so instructed.
