Adjourned Regular Meeting Oct 14 1y25 a The Board of Trustees of the City ~f Lynwood met in adjourned regular session at the City Ha11 205 uVest Mulford Ave ~lednesday Oct 14 1925 at 7:30 pm Present: Trustees Hutchinson Tweedy Gordy Reed Downey Absent: None City Attorney City Engineer and Clerk present rresident Downey in the Chair The minutes of the meeting of Oct 7 were road and approved Spl Coms Trustee Hutchinson reported that the matter of supplying seats *-•. for Mod~eska station had been taken up witn pertain parties, and could not say whether same would be supplied. In the event that same was not supplied he recommended that street• crew construct necessary seats for the station. Report accepted. He also reported that the matter a1' boys npsrating push-~cai~s and skates upon sidewalks in the business dist- rict had been referred to the Ivlarshal with instructions to stop this practice. tTnf bus A bill from the Hirsch Co amounting to x"150 for a siren was presented. `t`his siren having been loaned to the City. a motion was made and carried that the Clerk be instructed to notify said Company that the City did not wish to purchase same. The matter of procuring prices for a hose partition for the fire engine havin~Z been referred to the Fire Commissioner he submitted the following proposals : Hirsch Co X100, J E F.ggieston ~~35. Ane~:~t~cvmmehded the acceptance .of the offer of J E Eggleston. A motion by Trustee Gordy. seconded by Trustee Reed that the Fire Commissioner be authorized to ac- cept the offer of J E Eg~rlestan for the construction of d hose partition far the fire engine, was carried btr the following vote: Ayes : 't'rustees Hutchinson Tweedy Gordy Reed Downey Noes : None Absent: None A motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee Hutchinson that the bill of Fairbanks Aiorse & Co amounting to Eight Hundred Forty Fight & 50/100 Dollars far a motor and automatic starter installed at Plant Ato ~l, as per contract with said Company, be allowed and warrant ordered. drawn for"" same, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Hutchinson Tweedy Gordy Reed Downey Noes: None Absent: None The City Engineer read a letter proposed to be subm~.tted to the County Planning Commission regarding the route for the extension of Santa Fe Avenue through the City. A motion was made and carried. that said letter be accepted and forwarded to the County Planning Commission. The Cit~r T'ngineer reported on the matter of the proposed drain- age a~stem to be constructed along Santa Fe Avenue, stating that there were two ways to pay for same, either by an assessment district, in which event the cost would be nearly prohibitive, or by taking filnndy'from the County Flood Control ~"und. He recommended that the matter be fully ex- plained to the Counts Board of Supervisors and a request ~d~ that Bfl~ts and exnenses~of same be taken from the Flood Control Fund. A motion was made and carried that the Citsr Engineer be instructed to write a letter to the Eount~T~xBobrd° bf~ Supervisors embodying his recommendations and submit same to the Roard for their approval at the next meeting. ~Phe hearing of protests on the work or improvement as contempla- ted under Resolution of Tntentior~ P1o 245 having been continued to this date, on motion made and carried same was continued to the next regular meeting of the Board. This being the time and place set for the receiving of sealed bids or proposals for the work or improvement as contemplated under Reso- lution of intention No 265 the Clerk announced that there were eight bids on file. The Citzr Attorney recommended that a motion be made to:bpen, ex- amine and publicly declare said bids. A motion by Trustee Feed seconded by `i~ustee Hutchinson that the bids be referred to the City Engineer to report on same at the next meeting of the Board, was carried by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Hutchinson Gordy Reed Downey does : Trustee Tweedy Absent: None On motion Board adjourned to meet Thursday Oct 15 1925 at the usual time and place.
