Present: Trustees Anderson Tweedy Gordy Reed Downey Absent: None City Engineer, Stenpgrapher and Clerk present President Downey in the Chair The minutes of the Meetings of Dec 2 and 10 were read and ap- proved. A motion by Trustee Gordy seconded by Trustee Reed that a rec- ord be made of a Call issued by the President for a Special Call R~eeting to be held Dec 9 1925 at 7:30 pm, was carried ?~~rit Coms A petition was read from G A Reber asking ~hat<`:a pertmit be is- sued for the erection of a Service Station on Lot II13 Tract 30?8. Said petition having appended thereto the requisite number of signers, a mo- tion by Trustee Reed seconded by `Trustee Gordy that said permit be grant- ed, was carried Spl Courts Street Com Reed reported that a pedestrian zone had been es- tablished at the corner of Platt and L B Blvd, that the matter of a new Building Ordinance would be taken up later, and that the business men on the ttoulevard were not in favor of parallel parking. He recommended that 45 degree parking be established the entire length of the Blvd in the business section. A motion bq Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee Anderson that the Street Commissioner be authorized to have 45 degree parking spaces painted dtn the curb betweed Oakwood and Beeehwood on the Blvd, was carried. Health Commissioner Tweedy reported that he had purchased a First Aid Fit and that the same was placed in the Gity Offices. Also that the cess-pool fog! said dffices ~ Y~ad been installed.. Fire Commissioner Anderson asked that the City purchase two rubber suits for the use of the fire department, and recommended said purchase. A motion by Trustee Tweedy seconded by Trustee Gordy that the Fire Commissioner be authorized to purchase two rubber Suits far the use of the Fire Department, was carried by the following vote Ayes: Trustees Anderson Tweedy Gordy Reed Downey Noes: None Absent: None The Street Commissioner recommended that a street light be installed on PJest Fernwood Ave at the intersection with the Southern Pacific Ry. A motion by Trustee Reed seconded by Trustee Anderson that. the Light Commissioner be authorized to have said installation made, was carried btu the following vote: Ayes: Trustees Anderson Tweedy Gordy Reed Downe~T Noes : None; Absent: None The Street Commissioner stated that there was considerable garbage in the alley behind the business section on the west side of the Blvd between Mulford and Fernwood and asked that same be reT~oved. The President referred this matter to the Health Commissioner. President Downey reported that after considerable difficulty the matter of a temporary disposal olant to be used in connection with ,; the Metropolitan Sewer System, had been settled, and that same would be installed at Niger Slough. And that this matter having been settled work on the Metropolitan Serer System would go forward at once. Trustee Reed stated that he had seen an official map of the proposed right-of-way of the extension of Santa Fe r'~venue, and that same showed said Avenue running under the Pacif is electric Ry in the vicinit~* of i~od jeska Station. This having been deemed unadvisable owing to water so near the surface of the ground, the City Engineer was in- structed to take the matter up with the Chairman of the County Plan- ning Commission and report not later than Friday am Dec 18. ?Jnf Bus This being the time and dace set for the hearing of protests on the work or improvement as contemplated under Resolution of Inten~-° tion No 245, a motion was made and carried that said hearing be con- tinued to the next re filar meeting of the Board. New Bus 'T'rustees Anderson and Tweedy stated that this v~ras the time for pi~bvitii:ng for the holding of a Special Election in accordance with an order received.
