A communication was read. from the Long Beach Blvd l~ssn ccin- veying the information that the members of the Board of Trustees, the Cit~r Atty and Clerk had been made honorary members of the said Assn, and• extendin~Z an invitation to attend the meetings of the Assn. The Clerk was ' instructed to reply, expressing thanks and acceptance of the invitation. . Rent Comrs Light Comr A~urray spoke on the matter of a lighting system for the unlighted portion of the City. Stating that he had been informed that there :Had-been- no •ufotest= a~aif~.st the overhead lighting system as rec- commended by the Lighting Committee. Also stating that if this was the desire of the people that he was in favor of proceeding to install lights as soon as possible. 'his was laid over to the next meeting. Trustee Murray asked the opinion of the Ysoard regarding the pa~,nnent for the use of a private car used in the water department during, the last 30 days. Other members expressed themselves as favoring a reas- onable payment, a motion btr Trustee ~?urray seconded btr Trustee Tweedy that J J Stover be allowed X10 for the use of his automobile by the water dex~artment to date, was carried by the following vote: Ayes : Trustees Tweedy Roberts C=ordy ivturray Greenamyer Noes: None Ahsent: None Trustee Roberts spoke on the matter of exchanging a used motor, and other discarded pumping equipment far a track. After discussing the °~~.'' matter a motion was made and carried that, the Chair appt~int a committee --•~ to report on -same. The Chair appointed `Trustees C=ordy F?oberts and T~4urray as such Committee. Fire Commissioner Tweedy stated that, additional fire hose was needed bZ- the fire department. and asked that the Y~oard purchase approx- imat~ely 50o feet of 2' in 2 ply hose. A motion by Trustee Roberts sec- onded by Trustee `gtlrray that the matter be referred to the President and the Fire Commissioner with power to act, was carried by the fallow8 ing vote: Ayes: Trustees Tweedy Roberts Gordy hurray C=reenamyer Noes: None Absent: None `1'he matter of hiring a fireman to take charp,'e of the fire en- ._._ give during the day was laid over to the next meeting. '~?Tnf Bus In accordance with instructions of the Board the City +, gi- ` peer stated that the activities of his office in the matter of the sewer system for the City was covered by his report of T~'ebruary 3 1926, the same being on file in the office of the City Clerk. He also stated that his bill for material and labor used in connection with the installa- tion of a sewer system in the City amounted to X9549.20, and that legal expense incurred amounted to 31,.40, making a total of ~10366.60.r --~New~3us The financial reports of the '~Tater and City Clerks for"the monor of February were read and filed. A Resolution entitled "A Resolution of the hoard of Trustees of the CitT~ of Ltrnwood, ~a1., declaring its intention to call a General P~funicipal Election in accordance with the provisions of the Tlection Laws of the State of California." was read.
