President Greenamyer in the chair. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A communication from V1,C.Thorntan was read and the City clerk was instructed to vrrite. A communication,with reference to the forms under the Mattoon Act, from Carlisle 8; Co.was read,Moved by Trustee Rice and seconded by Trustee Tweedy that three copies be purchased, Roll Call Ayes;Tweedy Skeltcn,':`~4urfay,R.ice and Greenamyer Noes; None A com~m~.n.ication from the Chamber of Commerce requesting the City Trustees to buy a set of Aerial Views.The City clerk was instructed to vrrite that the Trustees do not see their way clear to purchase a set at this time. - A communication from Clarence L,Stoddard applying T"or position of City clerk and City recorder was read and ordered filed, A eornmunicat ian from G , C . &4oore applying for the position of C ity clerk and city recorder was read and ordered f~.led. A communication from the T.,ynwood Volunteer Fire Department,invitin The Board of Trustees to attend a benef it lawn party,was read and the City clerk was instructed to write a letter of thanks to the Department. A communication to.:N,R.Pomeroy,from the Presi~.ent of the Board of Trustees was read,Moved by T~ustee Rice and seconded by Trustee Tweedy that same be indorsed.Same was carried and so ordered. Mr.Mont ~Jlilliams presented a petition from the residents along Mod~eska Blvd and Messrs.l~1311iams and Cox discussed same,Petition was accept and ordered filed,Moved by Trustee Rice and seconded by Trustee Murray that the Chair appoint a committee of three,including the President to take the petition up with Mr.Pomeroy.Motion carried and so ordered,The committee was appointed as follows; Greenamzfer,Murray and Rice. Plans for a Vault to protect the records of the City of Lynwood was submitted.The ghair appointed Trustee Skelton as a committee of one to determine the cost of same and report at the next meeting. Oral Communications; Mrs.Osborne ad~.ressed the Board of Trustees requesting they get behind the Dahlia Shovr by assisting the show committee in obtaining the necessary banners.The Board of Trustees expressed themselves as willing to take care of the obtaining of banners if the data regarding same was furnish Committee reports; Mr Murray,W~-ter eommissioner,reported the North end of Town has a very insufficient supply of water from the present three inch main. He sugges ed that aids be received for the supplying of 1800 feet of six inch pipe to replace this main,Bids are to be received. The matter of cleaning the new Blvd lighi,s~- was discussed and it wa suggested that the Water Department take care~::of this. Ordinance N(~ ?0 entitled."Amending Ordinance No 68,which last n«med Ordinance is entitled'An Ordinance regulating plumb ing,cesspools,Sewers,Gas and water installations in the City of hynwood;~ oviding for Plumbing permit and inspections,and fixing fees therefor;Repealing all other Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith,and providing penalties for the violation hereof ;by adding a section to said Ordinance relating to Gas heat e: and Gas meters,such added section to known as Section 49~;was read for the f~:rst time.Moved by Trustee Tweedy and seconded by Trustee Rice that same be accepted for first reading. Ayes; Trustees Tweedy,Rice Skelton,Pnurray and Greenamyer. Noes; None. The contract of City Engineer Robert Miller with .the City of Lyn- v wood was read and passed. UV"~- ~- ~-~-~~-~- The leveling of East Fernwood Ave was brought up and the Street Commissioner was requested to proceed.' It°.was mooved Trustee Tweedy and seconded by Trustee Rica that the Tractor operator and the man in charge of the horse and plow be paid 621 cen~ per hour,and the Street Supterin~ent be ps id a salary of 150.00 per Month. 1~ The same to become eff'eetive August first.
