The Hoard of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in regNlar
session at the City Hall 3221 Mulford Ave Tuesda~r evening October 26,
1826 at ?;30 P.M.
Present; Trustees Tweedy Skelton Rice Murray and Greenamyer.
Abs®nt; None.
City Attorney Hayne and Ciby Engineer Miller were present.
The Minutes of the ~aeeting of October 19th were read and ap-
pro~ared as read.
Written Con~uniaations;
A communications from The W.l.Rainey Organisation submitting
the plans of the Sub-division,named Century Square,to the Board of Trust-
ees Por their approval,was read.It was moved by Trustee Rice and seconded
by Trustee Tweedy that sa~ae be approved on the condition that ths° follow-
ing Street names be ahanged;Elm Street,Pine Street,and Locust Street;

A aornmunicatl,on from Edw.Ingram relative to the moving of a
pole in Pront of his house.It was mowed by Trustee Murray and seconded
by Trustee Tweedy that the So,Cal. Edison Co be requested to move this
pole.A~otion was carried and so Ordered.
The resignation of E.li Er-kf itz as motorcycle officer was read.
it was moved by Trustee Rice and seaonded by Trustee Skelton that same be
aaaepted to take effect the 31st of October.

The application of E.M.Erkfitz for the position of Motorcycle
officer was read.It was moved by Trustee Rice and seaonded by Trustee
Murray that same be accepted and planed on file.Motion was. carried and
so ordered.
Permission was requested through the City Clerk for the mov-
ing of a 26 ton Ditcher through the City to the Works on Modjeska BLsd.
It was moved by Trustee Rice and seaonded by Trustee Tweedy that same
be grantdd sub~eat to the direction of the Street Supt.and that any
damage to the Streets over which the machine passes shall be paid for,
Motion was carried and so ordered.
It was moved by Trustee Tweedy and seconded by Trustee Rice
that the City attorney be instructed to prepare and submit,at the next
regu].il~ eting,an~~~emergenay amendment to Ordinance No 73 providing for
a licAnse fee of five dollars ~y for disfiributing any literature or
printed matter containing anyctvertisement of a business which is rep-
rewented in the City of Lynwood.~totion was carried and so ordered.
The City clerk was instructed by the president to inform the
conanittee on water conservation that the matter of a donation -for this
purpose would be taken under advisement.
It was moved by Trustee Murray and eeoonded by Trustee Riae
that the City of Lynwood pay it's lighting assessment.Motion was carried
and so ordered.
It was moved by Trustee° Murray and seconded by Trustee Riae
that the City Recorder be permitted to appoint The City Marshall as a
deputy Recorder for the purpose of accepting Bail in the absence of the
Recorder or Chief deputy Reaorder.Motion was carried and so ordered.
It was moved by Trustee Rice and seconded by Trustee Tweedy
that an addition be added to the City Jail for the use of the City Mar-
shall as an office and better protection of the Jail same to be const-
ructed oP wood.

It was sebved by Trustee Rice and secon~~td by Trustee Tweedy
that Al Stevens be appointed acting a~ief of the fire Department dur-
ing the. absence of the Fire c~ief,The acting chief to reoeive the ns
~tnl pay of the c~lief for the time he 1s on duty. ?:c~:

It was moved by Trustee Rice and seconded by Trustee Skelton
that the Demands as represented by a schedule presented by the City clerk
be allowed and warrants be dwawn on the Treasurer for the amounts.

City ~gineer Miller was questioned regarding the progress r
on the different projects about to be undertaken in the City of Lynwood ~"~ ~
-- He stated he had spent about three or four days.. in the field .,and about the
aa~ne amount of dine in the 8ffioe on preliminary work. for 114th Street,The
drainage pans were about complete and would be ready for presentation in
about one week,and would have the Resolution of Intention$ reader for the
BOAPd of Trustees at the neact regular meeting,
Mr.Hayne,City Attorney stated it would be advisable to wait a
week or two g-or the Corms of prereedure under the Matoon Act,if they had
not been ~~ at this t3.me he would prepare a set Por the City.

that the President of the Board be given the authority to settle the light
a$sessment with the Faoitic Electric Railway Co.,
