The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood met in regular
session at the City Hall, 3221 riulford rivenue, ~~ednesday evening, Feb-
ruary 23rd, 1927, at 7:30 P, gel.
Present: Trustees Tweedy, Hurray ~.nd Greenar2yer.
Absent; Trustees Skelton and mice.
Cit~F rittorney Mayne and Cit~T Engineer Miller were present.
The City Clerk, C L. Stoddc:rd, being absent, tn.e deputy
clerk, n. rV, `inderson, acted ror him.
The minutes of t:~e meeting of rebruar`~~ 8th were read and
approved as re:.d.

Bid of ~ . C, Lynch of trxe General Petroleu~a Corpox~ation
of Los ~.~.g~les enclosing certified check for X100.00 for pipe line
franchise on Norton avenue of the Citti, of :;_`-n~~rood, was read, knit the
Boar-~d w:~s not wit ~ ing to accept this amount, and after considerable
discussion the bid was raised to ~p500.00. ibIr. ~~. C. Lynch gave a cheek
for X400.00 whici~. with the other already given covered the amount.
It was l~~oved by Trustee Tweedy and seconded bar Trustee Murray that said
amaunt be accepted, and a vote taken snowed the following result;

A communication from Ck~as. R. Cumrlings, 1~~ater Superintendent,
requesting t:t2at certain water line pipe improvements be made on Streets
crossing Peach Street before tree improving of said peach Street, was
read. It wus moved b° Trustee Tweedy and seconded by Trustee Murray
that we put in Cast Iron pipes in accordance with tine letter above
referrer:; to and t:xat said Ghas. R. Cu:?unings be authorized to put them
in in place of the riveted steel pipes tzat are now in,

A Resolution regarding a ce~~°tain Senate Bi1.l No. 214 and f~s-
sembly Bill 20, regarrdinE.; Home Rule of Fire Departments for Municipali-
ties as well as for Counties, was re_~d, and after considerable dis-
cussion, it was :novel 'oy Trustee hTurray and seconded by Trustee Tweedy
that said resolution be adopted and send same back endorsed bg tie

A Resolution relating to assembly Bill No. 901,which pur-
ports to amend Chapter 76 of the Statutes of 1923, which Chapter 76
grants to Municipalities in the State of California the right to pass
over and to cross tae streets of other cities and towns for-t::1e pur-
pose to construct :nigh tension: electric transzmissionlines, and said
assembly Bi11 No. 901 strikes out z"ro-rn Chapter 76 the words "in such
manner as to afford security for life and property" rind makes no sub-
stitute for such words so sought to be stricken out. ;Said above re-
ferred to resolution condemns as viscious legislation ~~ssembly Bill
Tdo. 901 and requests all Senators, assemblymen of the Legislature
not to pass said tissernbly Bill ido. 901. It w_~s moved b,= Trustee Tweedy
and seconded by "Trustee~,iurray that said resolution be passed and that
150 copies be printed and sent to the Senators and Assemblymen by the
~3tyClerk.

City Engineer TIiller informed the Board that he :lad presented
t~~e layout foz~ the school site in the southwest part of txxe City to dir.
Scranton and Helso of t~~e school Board and they said that tope layout
was satisfactory to them.
vin. :Millard asked to know whet'~.er or not he should keep tA:e
heavy trucks off tree side streets. President Greenamyer informed Chief
Millard t,.~at if they were ~~oing to some place on such street, they woo Id
not be prohibited, t.~uut if` they were used for trucking elsewhere, they
shoo ld be prohibited.
:~r. Cogswell, Street Superintendent, asked to k:pow as to cer-
tain pump equipment inthe Osgood .Tract ~~nd tree removal of same. The
~o~~rd instructed ~~r. Cogswell to get ir, touch ~;tit'l the owner of Lot 2,
Block E, Tr~.ct 6473, on which said pump equipment is located, as to the
removal of same.

as to who~~ was to get the garage remov ed out of the alley between
`_eeehwood and Sanborn Streets. President Greenamyer stated for the
ioard that Chief rlillard sl~ouid let the owner know that they ~~rished
same removed.
Tyr. Gray asked thetsoard regarding the cleaning up of
~~Zodjeska Douleva~~e~;~h~~e~the l~etropolitian Sewer system is being

politian people are through tn.ey will dean it up and put it back in
the same condition as it was previous to their starting the work, as
per their agreement.
Estimate cost of hcquisition and Irnprovemt vistrict No. 1,
has submitted. It ~~as ~~rioved by Trustee Tweedy and seconded by Trustee
urray that we request the County to participate in the paving of the
thirty feet of p ~}~nt on Elmwood through, the assessment District
to the extent of~5~3,000.00.

It was moved by Trustee Murray and seconded by Trustee
^lweedy that '~. W. Chapman, former Water Clerk for the cit of Lynwaad,
be relieved of said bond in the amount of ~~~`'S00.00.

A few demands were preadnted for payment. It was moved by
Trustee Murray and seconded by Trustee Tweedy gnat same be allowed
and warrants drawn on the Treasurer for the amounts.
