COUNCIL WORK SESSION APRIL 21, 20081
CALL TO ORDER
The Council “Pre-Meeting” Work Session of April 21, 2008, was convened at 5:45 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present:Brown, Crane, Ferguson, Harvey, Klindt, Koon, Layton, *Medin (arrived
at 6:00 P.M.), Penfold, and Smith
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
2007-177 (Contract with Chamber of Commerce) - Councilman Brian Crane distributed an
amended contract which he stated addressed the concerns with the dates of the contract
brought up by Councilwoman Jane A. Smith at the April 18 Brown Bag meeting. He stated he
will be making a motion to amend the bill at the meeting before it is voted on.
Appointments as liaisons to Chamber of Commerce - Mayor John Landwehr explained
some of the appointments he would like to make in connection with the Chamber of Commerce
so that the Council is more involved in the economic development activities.
Resolution RS2007-50 (GIS website opt-out) - A lengthy discussion was held regarding the
reasons and any associated costs for opting out of the GIS website.
Announcements of upcoming meetings and events - City Administrator Steve Rasmussen
stated he wanted to announce that the Council will hold a “Council Goals and Priorities” work
session on Monday, May 12 in lieu of a two-day Council retreat as had previously occurred
over a weekend.
