HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1928-09-11 - CC1~~ REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 11, 1928 The Board of Trustees,.now known as the CityCouncil of the City of Lynwood met in regular session at the City Hall, 11331 Plaza St., Tuesday evening,, September 11 at 7:30 F. M. Roll Call: g Anderson, Greenamyer and Present. Trustees Tweedy, kelton, Murray, Engineer Miller, City Treasurer, Alice M. Rutter and City At- torney Hayne were present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. A communication from the County of Los Angeles Health Depart- ment asking the City to renew contract, the same having expired June _ 30 ,1928, and to make it two years instead of one, X1,000.00 fox one year and X1,200.00 for second year. It was moved by Trustee Anderson and seconded by Trustee Skelton, that the contract be accepted under the above terms. ~:- A communication from J. A. Bishop is regard to renting the j` building formerly used by the Fire Department for fi~eengine, owing to +~ th® fact the City will so®n move the said building to the City yard, th® ;r C~=k was instructed to notify Mr. Bishop to that affect. A communication from the City Clerk of Chico in regard to City Council co-operating with other cities in amending the present ,,,_, Gasoline Tax Laws s+o that the Cities would receive a portion of th~:s revenue. As it stands now, the different cities derive no benefit from the tax for the maintenance of their streets. Mayor Murray appointed '- a committee consisting of Trustee Anderson and Skelton and City Attox- ney Hayne to look into this matter. - Fire Chief Roberts addressed the Board telling of his trip to Redding to the State Firemen's Convention in the interest of his depart-. meat and thanking the Board for the opportunity of attending the meeting, as8uring them he had derived some benefit by so doing. Mx. A. B. Gray glad a few remarks to make concerning sewer con- nections on 114th Street in the City of Lynwood. He was informed by the Mayor that the contractors ~ei3'l will take care of this. Mr. Cosgrove of the Goodrich Company addressed the Board re- lative to the purchase-of additional fire hose for the City, quoting prices etc. The matter referred to Commissioner Skelton and held over for one week. Ordinance relating to the parking of vehicles in the City of Lynwood, amending Ordinance No. 78 was discussed by City Attorney Hayne. .. Lynwood, was approved by the Council. -~, -~ A committee consisting of Trustees Greenamyer, Skelton and '`~~-~ City Attorney Hayne were appointed by Mayor ~riurray to revise Ordinance No. 4 of the City of Lynwood, pertaining to the form of Voucher for the _. .~ City. • `- The time having arrived for hearing of objections and protests for the issuance of Bonds for the work and Improvement in Tract 8716 as described in Resolution of Intention No. 474 no protests were filed a.nd . Resolution No. 563 was adopted in reference to issuance of bonds in said . matter. It was moved by Trustee Tweedy and seconded by Trustee Skelton . that the s«me be adopted.
