Presents the following Ordinance Seconded by Councilman _
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING LEASE OF 46 ROOSEVELT AVENUE
TO HOLINESS TO JEHOVAH
WHEREAS, Holiness to Jehovah is an important part of the Borough of Carteret
(the "Borough") serving the spiritual needs of the community and improving the
quality of life for the Borough's citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Holiness to Jehovah wishes to expand its services to social,
recreational and educational needs of the people of the Borough; and
WHEREAS, Holiness to Jehovah wishes to renovate a rundown facility within the
Borough in order to accomplish its work; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are committed to assisting efforts to improve
the quality of life for Borough citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Borough wishes to assist the Holiness to Jehovah by leasing
sufficient land to meet its needs; and
WHEREAS, this Lease Agreement is made for a public purpose and satisfies the
requirements on N.J.SA. 40A: 12-1, et sec~, said public purpose being the educational
and recreational needs of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") that the attached lease for the property known
as 46 Roosevelt Avenue (the "Property") is hereby approved.

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said lease on behalf of the Borough.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this lease be made without competitive
bidding pursuant to N.J.S.A.40A: 12-1, et seq.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
