A RESOLUTION OF TIIE VILLAGE COTJNCIL OF THE
VTLLAGE OF KEY BTSCAYNE, FLORTDA, SELECTTNG
KCr TECm{OLOGmS, rNC. F'OR CONSTRUCTTON,
ENGINEERTNG, AllD INSPECTION (CEI) SERVTCES FOR
THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL (SRTS) PROJECT;
PROVIDING FOR AUTIIORIZATION; AI{D PROVIDING
FOR AII EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Village of Key Biscayne (Village') issued solicitation number 2020-43
for professional services relating to constnrction, engineering and inspection services (the
"services") for the Safe Routes to School Key Biscayne K-8 Center Project; and
WHEREAS, on May 7,2020,an Evaluation Committee appointed by the Village Manager
short listed firms and ranked KCI Technologies, Inc. (the "Consultanf') as the most qualified firm
for the Services; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to authorize the Village Manager to negotiate and
execute an agreement with tle Consultant for the Services; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCTL OF TIrE
VTLLAGE OF KEY BISCAYI\E, FLORTDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section.l. Recitals. That each of the above-stated recitals are hereby adopted,
confimred, and incorporated herein.
Section 2. Selection. That the Village Council hereby selects the Consultant for the
Services.
Section 3. Authorization. That the Village Council hereby authorizes the Village
Manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with the Consultant subject to the final approval
of the Village Attomey as to form, content, and legal sufficiency. If an agreement cannot be

reached with the Consultant, the Village Manager is authorized to negotiate and execute an
agreement with the next highest ranked firm(s), in order of ranking, until an agreement in the best
interest of the Village is reached.
Section 4. Effective Date. That this Resolution shall be effective immediately upon
adoption.
