KOCH, JR. COMMISSION CHAMBERS OF THE TOWN HALL, 100 SEA ROAD, GULF STREAM, FLORIDA. l X C C I. Call to Order. Mayor Morgan called the meeting to order at noon. II. Roll Call. Stanley Mayor Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Town Manager Staff Attorney Town Clerk Police Chief Vice Mayor III. Certification of Election Results. Town Clerk Taylor reported the following results of the Municipal Election held on March 14, 2017: There are 794 registered voters in Gulf Stream and 47.86% of those cast ballots, 59 of which were absentee and 380 were cast at the poll; Paul Lyons, 307; Julio Martinez, 112; Scott Morgan, 319; Martin O'Boyle, 26; Joan Orthwein, 312; Thomas Stanley, 317; Donna White, 307. IV. Seating of 5 Commissioners. Commissioner White moved to seat Mr. Lyons, Mr. Morgan, Mrs. Orthwein, Mr. Stanley and Mrs. White. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Orthwein. All voted AYE at the roll call. V. Swearing in of the Commissioners. The Town Clerk administered the Oath of Office to Mr. Lyons, Mr. Morgan, Mrs. Orthwein, and Mrs. White. Mayor Morgan thanked the candidates and especially thanked Mr. Martinez and Mr. O'Boyle adding that the campaign was run in a dignified way, respectful and restrained, which did credit to the Town of Gulf Stream. He then thanked the voters and the residents, remarking that there was an excellent turnout in an off-year election. He closed his remarks by expressing appreciation to the staff, especially the Town Clerk, Mrs. Taylor. He noted that she helped all candidates with the paper work to file, arranged for the voting equipment, oversaw the preparation and staffing of the poll, the voting and tally of the vote. She then had to take the results up to the Supervisor of Elections and remain to check questionable signatures on the write-ins along with Clerks from 21 Towns which lasted until 2 A.M. Wednesday morning. He commented that she is a salaried employee and as such, received no overtime pay for extra hours. N— N O CJ O Certification of Election S Seating of the Commissioners March 17, 2017 @ Noon VI. Date of April 2017 Regular Meeting. Mayor Morgan pointed out that the date of the April meeting, the 19th is on Good Friday. He suggested that it be held on either Thursday the 13th or Monday the 17th. Mr. Lyons preferred Monday the 17th of April and the others had no preference. The Mayor then announced that the regular meeting would be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. and would be followed by a shade meeting. VII. Adjournment.
