Present: Mayor William F. Koch, Jr.
Vice -Mayor Stewart B. Iglehart
Commissioner John G. Hart
Commissioner J. Phil Hoyle
Also attending: Richard F. Ward and Robert Mumma.
Mayor Koch called the meeting to order and announced that the
meeting had been called for the purpose of considering pay for
Officer Mumma to take a Police training course in Boynton Beach
beginning March 4, 1968.
The course is four hours per day, five days a week for a total of
110 hours. Officer Mumma would attend during off -duty time.
Following discussion on the matter, Mr. Iglehart moved that Officer
Mumma be paid his regular salary computed on an hourly basis for
the time he spends attending the training course. Mr. Hart seconded
the motion. Motion passed.
Mr. Iglehart asked for clarification on the hours of business for
the Town Hall. The Deputy Town Clerk's hours were listed as from
9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. During these hours
it was pointed out that the Clerk's duties sometimes required that
he leave the Town Hall for various lengths of time.
After discussion it was agreed that the Clerk's hours would remain
the same, but that the Town Hall hours would be from 9:30 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. and that any outside duties for the Town such as going
to the bank, courthouse, etc. be scheduled for the last hour of the
day. Also should an emergency arise during the Town Hall hours that
would require the Clerk to leave, he would call in the Policeman
on duty at that time to stand by until the Clerk returned.
There being no further business to come before the Commission, the
meeting was adjourned.
