Personnel
Lisa Donovan will begin work as our new Council on Aging Program Coordinator starting
August 26. Lisa has extensive social service experience in a variety of governmental
and non-profit roles on the Cape and Islands over the past 25 years that she will bring
to this important new position. Sarah Piebes has been hired as the Department of
Public Works Administrative Assistant, having previously served in a part-time role
supporting the Finance Committee, Community Preservation Committee, and Water
Quality Review Committee. We are considering adding approximately 5 hours/week to
that part-time position to provide some greater administrative assistance to the
Community Preservation Committee before posting to fill that vacancy.
IT Projects
Our top two priority IT projects for this coming year that will have a direct impact on
the way in which Brewster residents interact with their local government are to develop
and launch a new Town website and to prepare to transition to an e-permitting system
for many of our regulatory departments. Internal working groups have been convened
to begin this process and develop a workplan. While we have some funding in place for
this work from prior appropriations, we may need to secure additional funding to fully
implement the e-permitting platform in particular and will likely be submitting a grant
application for such through the Community Compact IT program later this fall. These
projects were both identified in the Vision Plan as areas that the Town should focus on
to improve communication and accessibility.
