FACTS: Housing and Community Development Advisory Board As Council is aware, the HCDA Board consists of nine citizens appointed by the Council for overlapping two-year terms. As of this � meeting, the terms of four of the nine Board members have expired. w. In addition to these four positions, a vacancy has been created by the resignation of YIr. Robert Cooper. Three of the iour Board mem- bers whose terms have expired have expressed a desire to be reap- pointed to the Board. These three members are Mr. Donald Dove, iNr. Lawrence Dunn, and Mr. Sid Smith. Mrs. Bess Sparlin has stated that she would not be able to continue as a Board member. Community Affairs Commission The terms of'two Community Affairs Commissioners will expire as of December, 1980. These two members are Mr. Richard McNiel and '�s. Edna Kinney. They both have expressed a desire to be reappointed to the Commission for a term of four years to expire December, 1984. Traffic and Parking Commission The Traffic and Parking Commission has two members whose terms expired October, 1980. These two members are Mr. Robert Archambault and hir. �Nilliam Cunningham. They both have expressed a desire to be reappointed to the Commission for a term of four years to exipre � October, 1984. In the meeting of November 18, Council nominated the following candi- dates for the vacancies listed above: � Housing and Community Advisory Board: Donald Dove, Lawrence Dunn, Sid Smith and Andrea Hooper. i Community Affairs Commission: Edna Kinney and Richard McNiel. I Traffic and Parking Commission: William Cunningham and Robert Archambault. I 9vALYSIS: I The procedure that Council has followed when vacancies occur is that nominations are made at the meeting prior to the meeting that actual appointment of each vacancy is made. This allows Council a two-week period in which they can make their selection. � At this time it would be appropriate for Council to make appointments for these vacancies. /' . J
