There was a discussion of having the police department verify

Mayor Dodson stated he had received several complaints about
rate in the Town and also the unsightly condition of the Polo
Stables. He pointed out there had been no effort at all to clean
up the area since the hurricane. Mr. Hoyle said the Gulf Stream
School is contemplating going to the Health Dept. to see if
something can be done. He also pointed out that it is a fire
hazard to the neighborhood. Mr. Iglehart said the stables had
been inspected this Season by the Health Dept. and he further
stated that any health hazard would be the flies and not rate
since rats are found all over the Town. Mr. Iglehart moved
that Mayor Dodson contact Mr. Pope at the end of the Season
and urge him to clean up the area or the Town would do it and
send him the bill for the cleanup. Motion was seconded and passed.
Mr. Hart moved that the Town write a letter to the Gulf Stream
Golf Club asking if they would enter into an agreement with the
Town to extend the present water contract from its present
expiration date of March 25, 1969 for an additional 10 years
until March 25, 1979. Motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Iglehart said he felt that regardless of any extension
of the water contract the Town proceed to buy land or secure
a long term lease on some land West of the Intra -Coastal Waterway
to assure the Town of a future source of water supply. Mr. Iglehart
moved that the water committee and Mr. Koch in particular to
proceed on the matter and try to have some definite proposals for
the next meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
There being no further business tc
