Phil Hoyle William S. LaPorte Also attending: Mrs. Kathleen Kirton, Messers. Henry Lilienthal, Henry Lilienthal Jr., Roy Cowart, William F. Koch and William Gwynn. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dodson. The minutes of the meeting held March 13, 1965 were read approved and adopted. The Financial and Water Report for March, 1965 was read and approved. All expenditures included in this report were approved. The minutes of the Meeting of the Board of Equalization held March 17, 1965 was read approved and adopted. A copy of a letter from Allen S. Austin to the Westminster Apts. was read and filed. This letter complained of the fence and hedge in the State Road AIA right of way being a traffic hazard to cars exiting from the Ville del Este Apts. The First reading in full of proposed Ordinance #134 titled AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA, REGULATING THE SUBDIVISION OF LAND IN OR ABOUT TO BE ANNEXED TO THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM: REQUIRING AND REGULATING THE PREPARATION AND PRESENTATION OF PRELIMINARY AND FINAL PLATS: ESTABLISHING MINIUM SUBDIVISION DESIGN STANDARDS: PROVIDING MINIUM IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE OR GUARANTEED TO BE MADE BY THE SUBDIVIDER AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. was heard by the commission. The Police reports for March, 1965 were read. There was a discussion of having the police department verify any police records of employees of the residents of the Town at the request of any resident. The Commission felt this Service should be pointed out to the Townspeople and instructed Mr. Gwynn to include a notice of the Service in next months water bills. Mr. Lilienthal stated that an amendment to the Townts Charter providing for a "hot pursuit clause" had been presented to the Palm Beach County delegation to the Florida Legislation. The Commission authorized a $20.00 a month pay raise to Patrolman James Brown effective May 1, 1965. -2- Mayor Dodson stated he had received several complaints about rate in the Town and also the unsightly condition of the Polo Stables. He pointed out there had been no effort at all to clean up the area since the hurricane. Mr. Hoyle said the Gulf Stream School is contemplating going to the Health Dept. to see if something can be done. He also pointed out that it is a fire hazard to the neighborhood. Mr. Iglehart said the stables had been inspected this Season by the Health Dept. and he further stated that any health hazard would be the flies and not rate since rats are found all over the Town. Mr. Iglehart moved that Mayor Dodson contact Mr. Pope at the end of the Season and urge him to clean up the area or the Town would do it and send him the bill for the cleanup. Motion was seconded and passed. Mr. Hart moved that the Town write a letter to the Gulf Stream Golf Club asking if they would enter into an agreement with the Town to extend the present water contract from its present expiration date of March 25, 1969 for an additional 10 years until March 25, 1979. Motion passed unanimously. Mr. Iglehart said he felt that regardless of any extension of the water contract the Town proceed to buy land or secure a long term lease on some land West of the Intra -Coastal Waterway to assure the Town of a future source of water supply. Mr. Iglehart moved that the water committee and Mr. Koch in particular to proceed on the matter and try to have some definite proposals for the next meeting. Motion passed unanimously.
