Dear Mort O’Boyle [Mail to: enrgy2burn@gmail.com]:
The Town of Gulf Stream received your public record request on July 20, 2017. Your request can
be found at the following link:
http://www2.gulf-stream.org/weblink/0/doc/112342/Page1.aspx
This letter requests clarification as to the time period of your request before determining whether
to provide you with an estimate for the extensive use of information technology resources or
extensive clerical or supervisory assistance as described in Fla. Stat. § 119.07 (4)(d). This
request for clarification is done as a courtesy to you to ensure the Town is able to accurately and
promptly provide you with either an estimate, if necessary, or production of the public records
you seek.
Please clarify the above request as indicated and the Town of Gulf Stream will proceed with
fulfilling your request, or providing you an estimate of the cost of production based on your
clarification. If we do not hear back from you within 30 days of this letter, we will consider this
request closed.

I would like the records from May 1, 2017 to today's date. I reject the idea that a simple email search will take
"extensive use of information technology resources or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance". I can do a
search on my computer for emails and it would take all of about 2 minutes. The mere notion is ludicrous.

Dear Mort O’Boyle [Mail to: enrgy2burn@gmail.com]:
The Town of Gulf Stream received your public record request on July 20, 2017. Your request can
be found at the following link:
http://www2.gulf-stream.org/weblink/0/doc/112342/Page1.aspx
Thank you for your recent clarification which the Town received on August 10, 2017, and which
you can find at the above link. Please be advised that your request seeks “all e-mails” from a
Town employee spanning approximately 100 days. Based on your clarification to include “all
records from May 1, 2017 to today’s date”, the Town now estimates that to fully respond to your
request will require approximately an additional hour of administrative support at $38.54 per
hour, the labor cost of the personnel providing the service, per Fla. Stat. § 119.07(4)(d). If the
costs of producing these documents will exceed your deposit, the Town will provide you with an
initial production of responsive records and an estimate for the production of any additional
responsive records. If the costs of production are less than the deposit, the Town will provide you
with the responsive records and a refund.
(One hour @ $38.54) – (.25 @$38.54) = Deposit Due: $28.90 in cash or check.
Upon receipt of your deposit, the Town will use its very best efforts to further respond to your
public records request in a reasonable amount of time. If we do not hear back from you within
30 days of this letter, we will consider this request closed.
Sincerely,
Reneé Rowan Basel

There is no cost for these documents as it is a simple search and in no way difficult or time consuming. You are
on the clock for a response.
