SPECIAL MEETING
PL= :NNING COMMISSION
May 4, 1965
The special meeting was called to order at F' :k5 p.m. by Chairman
Bec' ;ley.
Those in attendance: Commissioners Briggs, Clemson, Garvin,
Johnston, Beckley
Also attending: W. Woollett, Jr.
Chairman Beckley asked all Commissioners in attendance if they had
received 24 hour written notice, which all Commissioners had.
Chairman Beckley indicated that he had called tha meeting for the
purpose of a request from the City Council for recommendations on
proposed Annexation No, a. City Manager Woollett indicated that
the City Council had just received a petition from the area of
Annexation No. 8 requesting annexation to the City and it had been
referred to the Planning Commission for their recommendation.
City Manager Woollett introduced a resolution to the Planning Commiss-
ion recommending to tha City Council that certain unincorporated
territory adjacent and contiguous to said City be annexed and further
recommending the areas to be included therein,Annexation No. 8,
A motion was made by Commissioner Clemson that the resolution be
adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Johnston and carried by
the following roll call vote:

Commissioner Briggs questioned the use of the potential principle
for pre - zoning on a portion of this area. Discussion followed. Cit
Manager Woollett indicated the matter would be discussed with the y
Whitnalls.
A motion was made by Commissioner Clemson that the meeting be adjourn
to the adjourned regular meeting May 10, 1965 at 7:00 P.M. in the
north meeting room at the City Hall. Motion seconded by Commissioner
Garvin and carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8 :o4 P.M.
