A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, TO MAKE AN
APPLICATION TO THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TRAFFIC
SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE FUNDING OF A ROUNDABOUT(S)
ON NORTH PARK ROAD JUST NORTH OF HIGHWAY 6
Whereas, the Iowa Department of Transportation Traffic Safety Improvement operates
under the rules of the Iowa Administrative Code 761 — Chapter 164, and;
Whereas, said program allow for the distribution of traffic safety funds to cities, counties
and the Iowa DOT for roadway improvements, research, studies, or public information
initiatives, and;
Whereas, the City of Tiffin, Iowa, has determined that by constructing a Roundabout(s)
on North Park Road just north of Highway 6 in between Tiffin Elementary School and
Oak Hill Elementary School will improve the safety and access points of that area.
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, that the
City Council supports an application for Iowa Department of Transportation Traffic
Safety Improvement Program funding and hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute a
completed application on behalf of the City.
On the 5th day of September, 2023, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Limkemann introduced RESOLUTION NO. 2023-059, A
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, TO MAKE AN
APPLICATION TO THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TRAFFIC
SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE FUNDING OF A ROUNDABOUT(S)
ON NORTH PARK ROAD JUST NORTH OR HIGHWAY 6 and made a motion for
approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Schnedler.
Ayes: Limkemann, Havens, Olney, Orris, Schnedler.
Nays: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon five Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that RESOLUTION NO. 2023-059, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA, TO MAKE AN APPLICATION TO THE IOWA DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION TRAFFIC SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE
FUNDING OF A ROUNDABOUT(S) ON NORTH PARK ROAD JUST NORTH OF
HIGHWAY 6 to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his
signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 5th day of September, 2023.
