An Ordinance establishing zones
for the regulation of speed of all ve-
hicles on the streets, avenues and
highways within the limits of the
town of Wellsburg, Iowa, and provid-
ing penalties for violation thereof.
Be it ordained by the council of
the Ta�vn of Wellsburg, Iowa; Sec-
tion One.
That there is hereby established
within the Town of We119burg, Iowa,
a Business District within which the
Maximum speed of any vehicle shall
not exceed Fifteen miles per hour
and such Business district shall be
defined and described as follows and
shall include all Streets and alleys
icithin such limits:
All of the Streets and Alleys sur-
rounding and included in Blocks
Seven (7), Eight (8), Ir'ine (9), Ten
(10), or streets as follows; Washing-
ton Street, from Second street to
Fourth Street, Folurth street from
Washington street to Jefferson street,
Jefferson street from Fourth street
to Second Street, Second Street from
Jefferson street to Washington street,
Adams Street from Second Street to,
Fourth Street.
Section Two —That there ;s hereby
'established a Residence District
within the Town of Wellsburg, Iowa.
within which the Alaximum speed of
any vehicle shall not exceed Twenty -
Five miles per hour, and such Resi-
' deuce District shall include ell
� Streets, Avenues, alleys and High -
I ways not included in the Business i
district.
Section Three —That the Town
shall furnish and erect upon all high-
ways, and streets suitable siKns at
the points at which the rate of speed
changes and statintt the maximum
rate of speed in the District in •which
the vehicle is entering.
Section Four —It shall be unlaw-
ful to operate any vehicle upon any
street, highway, alley or public
Around contrary to the provisions of
this Ordinance.
That, anyone violating any of the
provisions of this Ordinance shall
upon conviction, be punished by a
fine of not more Twenty-five (25)
Dollars, or by imprisonment not to
exceed Five (ii) days in jail.
Section Six —That all Ordinances
or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
Section Seven —That this ordinance
shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as
provided bq Law.
Adopted and passed this 7th day of
June A. D., 1928.

ORDINANCE NO. 80
BOULEVARD S
An Ordinance designating certain
streets and parts of streets as Boule-
vards and prescribing penalties for
violation.
Be it ordained by the council of
the Town of Wellsburg, Iowa; That,
Section One —The following streets
and parts of streets are hereby desig-
nated as Boulevards:
Adams Street( known as Blain
Street) from the north line of Sec-
ond street to the south line of
Fourth street.
Section Two —The 1layor shall
c,�use to be placed conspicuously at
Hach point where a street or Highway
intersects such designated boulevard
a sign, bearing the �-ords "STOP,
BOULEVARD;' of sufficient size to
be easily readable at the distance of
One Hundred (100) feet by a person
useing such street or hinhwty.
Section Three —All vehicles enter-
ing such Boulevard street from inter-
secting streets or highways shall
come to a full stop before such en-
trance.
Section Four —Anyone violating
any of the provisions of this Ordin-
ance, shall upon conviction, be sub-
ject to imprisonment not exceeding
thirty (30) days, or to a fine not ex-
ceeding One Hundred Dollars �
($100.00). Whenever the fine and
costs imposed for the violating of
this Ordinance are not paid, the per-
son convicted may be committed to
jail until the fine and costs are paid,
not to exceed thirty days.
Section Five —Alt ordinances or
part of ordinances in Fonflict -with
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its pas-
' sage and publication as provided by
law.
