Route 137 Project
Last June, the Town contracted with CDM Smith for engineering services to make
roadway and drainage improvements to the 1/3 mile stretch of Route 137 (Long Pond
Road) between Routes 6A and 24. With preliminary survey and design work now
complete, the Town plans to hold a public outreach session on the evening of Thursday
October 24 to give residents an update on the project status and solicit their feedback –
similar to what we recently undertook for the Millstone Road project. We will be
formally notifying all impacted residents about this information session in the next
couple weeks, as we look ahead to moving forward on a redesign that will include
enhancements aimed to improve pedestrian and bicycle access, drainage design, and
overall safety.
Paul Hush Way Blitz Build
Last week, the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod (HBRACC)
conducted their now fourth blitz build, completing construction of a new two-story,
three-bedroom home on Paul Hush Way in one week as part of phase two of Habitat for
Humanity of Cape Cod’s 14-home project. Hundreds of members of the HBRACC and
countless other volunteers contributed to the success of this project. In addition, our
Building Department choreographed all of the necessary inspections at each critical
stage of the project to keep it on schedule. Many thanks to the HBRACC for their
tremendous contribution and welcome to the Ortiz family to their new home.
