HomeMy Public PortalAboutChapter 264, Acts of 2006Nomination Papers Available -To fill a vacancy on the School Committee -State Election With the passage of Chapter 264 of the Acts of 2006, the Watertown Election Commission is announcing that nomination papers for the office of School Committee member to fill a vacancy are available. The nomination papers shall be filed with the Board of Registrars for certification on or before 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Pursuant to the Watertown Home Rule Charter in Section 7-4 (a) Signature Requirement is as follows: not less than one -hundred such signatures, not more than fifty of which shall be from any one district. A candidate who has filed nomination papers to fill the vacancy in the office of School Committee member may withdraw his or her nomination by filing a notarized withdrawal no later than 5 PM on August 30, 2006. On Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 5:30 PM in the Office of the Town Clerk, the order in which names of candidates appear on the ballot for the office of School Committee member shall be determined by a drawing, by lot, conducted by the Board of Election Commissioners and is open to the public.
