CITY OF TYBEE ISLAND
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, small business is the cornerstone of our free enterprise system and since the birth
of this country has represented opportunity, independence, and the fulfillment of dreams for
generations of Americans; and
WHEREAS, small business owners who balance working long hours, family and career
responsibilities,volunteering, and serving as community stewards, are integral to our country's
prosperity and to the vibrancy of our community. These entrepreneurs are fundamental to our
economy. Through the opportunities offered by the men and women who own and operate small
businesses, many of our citizens are able to pursue their dreams of a better life; and
WHEREAS,to recognize "Small Business Saturday" which is Saturday,November 30, a day to
celebrate and support small businesses that create jobs, provide necessary goods and services,
boost the economy and invigorate neighborhoods around the country and to encourage Shop
Local; and
WHEREAS,the City of Tybee Island wishes to recognize small businesses for the key role they
play in keeping our economy strong year-round.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JASON BUELTERMAN, Mayor of the City of Tybee Island,
Georgia, do hereby proclaim November 30, 2013 as Small Business Saturday and call upon the
people of Tybee Island to join their fellow citizens across the United States in celebrating the
accomplishments of our small business owners and their employees and encourage the
entrepreneur spirit that our town has nurtured.
In Witness Whereof, I have here unto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Tybee
Island, Georgia to be affixed this 141' day of November 2013.
