The meeting was called to order by Mayor Dodson.
Mr. Hart was given the floor to state several matters for
which he had requested the meeting. The recent robbery at
the Theodore Johnsen residence was discussed. The commission
informed Chief Cowart that in the future when off duty
policemen are working in the Town, no more than one is to be
in uniform. The Commission also instructed the Town Clerk
to make a survey of Town's street lighting and have additional
lights installed where they are needed.
There was a discussion of the garbage collection service in
the Town, and the Deputy Town Clerk was instructed to see that
all collections are made after 7:00 A.M. and the Gulf Stream
Golf Club before 9:00 A.M. and all homes and clubs be picked
up each collection day.
Mr. Hart stated that AlA was littered with trash and dead
animals and he said that the Club would regularly clean up Alk
from the Club house south to William Evans property if the
Town would take care of the rest of AlA. The Commission
instructed Mr. Gwynn to have the Sanitation Department do
regular clean up duty on AlA to keep it free of trash, etc.
