AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE
WHEREAS, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute has grant funding available through its Vic-
tims of Crime Act Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, Indiana desires to act as a "pass through" agent to obtain
funds that will be used by the Genesis program of the YWCA; and
WHEREAS, a local match of Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($15,250.00) will be
provided by the Genesis program.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The Mayor of the City of Richmond is authorized to prepare and submit a grant application to
the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Sixty-one
Thousand Dollars ($61,000.00.).
3. The City of Richmond, Indiana hereby commits to provide local funds in an amount up to Fif-
teen Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($15,250.00), which will be provided by the Genesis
program of the YWCA as matching funds for said grant.
4. The grant funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be provided to the Genesis program
of the YWCA.
Passed and adopted this _17th_ day of February 2004, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
