AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, The Indiana Department of Commerce has grant funding available through its
Industrial Development Grant Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond wishes to submit a grant application to obtain funds that
will be used to construct a left turn lane off of Salisbury Road that will be
needed to accommodate additional traffic generated by the Osborn International
facility; and
WHEREAS, a local match of Thirty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($32,500.00) is
required and such funds will be supplied by the Consolidated Edit Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Commerce.
2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in
an amount up to Thirty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($32,500.00).
3. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to provide local funds from the
Consolidated Edit Fund in an amount up to Thirty-two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($32,500.00) as matching funds for said grant.
4. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to construct a
left turn lane off of Salisbury Road.
