AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE,
AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has funding available through its
Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, Indiana desires to submit a grant application to obtain funding
that will allow the Fire Department to purchase a self contained breathing apparatus and related
equipment; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Two Hundred
Eighty-three Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty-five Dollars ($283,825.00).
2. The City of Richmond, Indiana hereby commits to provide local funds in an amount up to Thirty-
one Thousand Five Hundred Thirty-six Dollars ($31,536.00) as matching funds for said grant.
3. The grant funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to allow the Fire
Department to acquire a new self contained breathing apparatus and related equipment.
Passed and adopted this _19th day of _April 2004, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
