Council Meeting Date for Request: November 14, 2013
Item: To request the City Council's approval to amend the FY14 general fund budget by an increase of$4,361;
transfer$24,639 from the contingency line item to the police capital equipment line item; and to seek approval
to issue an RFP to acquire a police tag reader for cost not to exceed$29,000.
The purpose of this agenda item is to acquire the City Council's approval to issue an RFP to acquire a police tag
reader with the purchase price not to exceed$29,000 and to fund the acquisition by increasing the police's
capital project equipment line item (100.3210.54.2100)by$29,000 within the general fund. The increase in the
capital project fund of the police department will require a transfer of$24,639 from the general operating fund's
contingency fund(100.9000.61.1000), and require a budget amendment to increase the general fund budget
(revenue & expenditures) by 4,361, from $9,135,931 to $9,140,292. The $4,361 will come from the prior
year's fund balance.
