AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE'S VICTIM OF CRIME ACT
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute has grant funding available through the
Victims of Crime Act Program.
WHEREAS, the Genesis program of the YWCA wishes to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Criminal Justice Institute requesting monies to help fund the salaries of
certain persons employed by the Genesis program.
WHEREAS, a local match of twenty percent in the sum of Thirteen Thousand Seven Hundred
Fifty Dollars ($13,750.00) is required for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The Genesis program is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana
Criminal Justice Institute to help fund the salaries of certain persons employed by the Genesis
program.
2. The Genesis program is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Fifty Five Thousand Dollars ($ 55, 000.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the Genesis program, shall be appropriated to assist with the
salaries of the persons associated with the Genesis program.
Passed and adopted this _21 st_ day of _January 2003, by the Common Council of the
City of Richmond, Indiana.
