Justice_ORDINANCE NO. 11-2003 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE INDIANA CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE WHEREAS, The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute has grant funding available through its Big City/County Seat Belt Enforcement Project; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to perform "seat belt blitzes"; and WHEREAS, "seat belt blitzes" are intended to encourage and increase seat belt usage; and WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to fund "seat belt blitzes." 2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00). 3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated to fund "seat belt blitzes."
