CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO.2017-17
RECOGNIZING LINDA LANE FOR TEN YEARS
OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MEDINA
WHEREAS, Linda Lane has been a valued full time City of Medina employee in the Public
Works and Planning Departments since March 26, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Linda has served as the Administrative Assistant to Public Works and
Planning for the past ten years; and
WHEREAS, Linda continues to serve as the City's Community Event Coordinator for the
City Cleanup Day and Medina Celebration Day (through 2016), seeing the celebration grow and
expand into something the City can be quite proud of; and
WHEREAS, Linda handles the record keeping and sets up appointments for the quarterly
Random Drug and Alcohol testing and Water and Wastewater Certification Renewal training for the
PW Department, as well as coordinating the yearly OSHA safety training for all staff; and
WHEREAS, Linda manages German Liberal Cemetery, selling burial plots and working
with the families, the cemetery caretaker and various funeral homes for burials, as well as updating
records; and
WHEREAS, Linda continues to handle several large tasks for the Public Works
Department such as: yearly DNR Water Usage and Water Level Reports, Consumer Confidence
Report for the Department of Health, two separate Sanitary Sewer Reports and the MS4 Stormwater
Report; and
WHEREAS, Linda works with the PW Director on yearly budget numbers, as well as
coding invoices for payment; coordinating all maintenance service contracts; yearly Road Projects,
which include Road Material Bid packets, Feasibility Reports and Resolutions to Council, as well as
public neighborhood meetings; and
WHEREAS, Linda has worked with PW Director Steve Scherer on several large grant
projects throughout her years of service, training on the elink system set up by BWSR for posting
work plans, as well as updates and reporting for the projects; and
WHEREAS, Linda's position with the Planning Department has grown over the last few
years with more responsibility in regards to setting up files for new homes and businesses, including
land use files, giving out permits, septic system reporting, Public Hearing mailings and Planning
Commission packets, preparing lists of new development addresses and PID numbers to send out,
and overseeing the process of changing all the residential files over to LaserFiche; and

WHEREAS, the City of Medina expresses sincere gratitude for Linda's dedication and
continued service to the Medina community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Medina
acknowledges and thanks Linda Lane for ten years of service to the community.

Cousineau and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Anderson, Cousineau, Mitchell
