AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE,
AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM
THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to states through
the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to support capital, operating and feasibility
study assistance projects for non -urbanized public transportation systems under
Section 5311 of the FTA Act of 1964, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the Public Transit Section, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has been
designated by the Governor to make Section 5311 grants for public transportation
projects; and
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Transportation has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with operating and
capital expenses for Rose View Transit for 2004; and
WHEREAS, a local cash match of One Hundred Ten Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-one Dollars
(S 110,25 1.00) is required for this grant. The matching source is from the General
Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Indiana Department of Transportation to assist with operating and capital expenses for
Rose View Transit for 2004.
2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Eight
Hundred One Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-seven Dollars ($801,777.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated as follows:
a) Seven Hundred Two Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-seven Dollars ($702,777.00) to
assist with operating expenses for Rose View Transit for 2004; and
b) Ninety-nine Thousand Dollars ($99,000.00) to assist with capital improvements
for Rose View Transit in 2004.
Passed and adopted this _4th day of _Au ust 2003, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
