Iglehart William S. LaPorte Cathleen Kirton, Messrs Lilienthal, Cowart and Koch. Mayor Dodson called the meeting to order. The minutes of the meeting held May 9, 1961 adopted. The Financial and Water Report fo approved. All expenditures included in thi s Police reports for May, 1964 were read. were read, approved and r May, 1964 was read and report were approved. Mayor Dodson appointed Mr. William LaPorte to work in conjunction with Mr. Gwynn in preparing the budget for the 1964 -1965 fiscal year. There was a discussion of the Town amending its' Charter to provide the Police Department with hot pursuit powers for speeders passing through the Town. The possibility of increasing insurance costs and additional dangers to the policemen were mentioned. The Commission concluded that stopping speeders outside the Town Limits and written warnings were adequate means of deterring speeders. The Commission authorized Mr. Gwynn to obtain at least three bids, one from outside the Delray area for,the Townts insurance coverage which comes up for renewal October 1, 1964. Mr. Iglehart discussed several plans under consideration by the South Lake Worth Inlet Commission that would change the operation of the Boynton Inlet. He felt any changes could possibly affect the beaches to the south of the inlet and felt it was the duty of the Commission to keep informed on any proposed changes. It was moved, seconded and passed unanimously that the Town write a letter to the Inlet Commission asking that the Town Commission be kept informed and granted a hearing before any changes are undertaken. Copies of this letter to be sent to the Town of Ocean Ridge, Highland Beach, Delray Beach and Briney Breezes. Mr. Koch reported that the water committee was lo6king at several locations west of the Intracoastal as possible water supply sources and that some valuable engineerin.- data could possibly be obtained from the City of Delray Beach, as they had had water tests made of the area several years ago. Koch Jr. & William Gwynn The meetin-- was called to order by Mayer Dodson to hear a report from Mr. Koch regarding a site location for a well field for the Toim. Mr. Koch reported that a tract of land 100' x 2$$01 north of Mr. Reeds subdivision, and owned by Mr. Reed could be purchased from Mr. Reed for :14,000.00 and for a nominal amount the Town could acquire water ri?�hts to a five acre tract of Mr. Reeds lyin.- west of his subdivision betwzen U.S. 1 and Dixie Hi -hway, Mr. Koch stated that Delray Beach had several surveys of this area on file and the Town could probably get some inexpensive en.•ineerin� advise on the availabilty of water in this area.
