October 20, 1988
The regular meeting of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood, California was
held on Thursday, Ootober 20, 1988 at 5:00 p.m in the Council Chambers of the
Lynwood City Ha11, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly
posted as prescribed by the Brown Act.
' CALli T0 ORDER
The meeting was.called to�order by Commissioner Litke. Roll call was taken by
Douglas Rob.inson, Personnel Officer, PRESENT.: Vice.Chairperson Gilpen, Commis- �
sioner Esparza, Commissioner Litke, Commissioner Swift ABSENT: Chairman Sohnson
(excused). (Note: Vice Chairperson Gilpen requested Commissioner Litke to conduct
the meeting as she was not feeling well)
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge was led by Commissioner 9wift.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The motion was made by Commissioner &sparza to approve the minutes o£ the September
15, 1988 with the following noted corrections by Commissioner Litke. It was noted
that Commissioner Esparza arrived at the meeting of September 15, 1988 as it was
concluding (as reflected by Mr. Fraser's notes of that meeting). It was further
noted that the motion for adjournment was made by Commissioner Litke but seconded
. by another commissioner�whose name could not be recalled. Commissioner Gilpen .
seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passed.
STUDIES & REPORTS
The first item on the agenda was the request from the Personnel Department for the
certification of the eligibility list for the position of Administrative Analyst IIL
The motion was made'by Commissioner Esparza and seconded by Commissioner Gilpen to
' to certify the list. All in favor. Motion carried.
The eligibility list for the position of Recreation Facility and Program Supervisor
was requested to be certified by the board. Commissioner Gilpen made the motion
to certify the list accepting the first seven candidates only. The motion was secon- ,
ded by Commissioner Esparza. Commissioner Litke noted the City's 60% passing point
standard which would disallow candidates number eight and�nine. All in�favor. Motion

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further busi.ness to conduct the motion was made by Commissioner Esparza � .��'
. and seconded by Commissioner Gilpen to adjourn. The next regularly�scheduled meeting �
will be November 17, 1988. All in favor. Motion carried. i
