Iglehart Hart Hoyle S. LaPorte ial, Chief Roy Cowart, Mrs. The meeting was called to order by Vice Mayor Iglehart. The minutes of the meeting held July 13, 1963 were read and approved, and adopted. The financial and water reports for July, August and September were read and approved. All expenditures included in those reports were approved. There was a discussion of investing surplus money in local Savings and Loan associations. The Commission felt this would not be a good policy to follow. It was announced the Town recently received a check from Palm Beach County in the amount of $1049.30. This being the Town's share of the Road and Bridge Fund taxes. The Commission authorized the installation of three additional street lights in Place au Soleil subdivision at Mr. Boardman's request. At the request of Mr. Frederic Ayres, the Commission authorized the changing of name of School Road to Old School Road. A letter from Steven Bailey, Vice President of Miami Elevator Co. commending our police force was read to the Commission. The Police reports for July, August and September were read. The minutes of,the Board of Equalization meeting held August 14, 1963 were read, approved, and adopted. Resolutions #527, #528 and #529 as passed by the Board of Equalization were read. These minutes and resolutions are included and become a part of these minutes. Resolution #530, setting percentage of-certain General Fund ex- penses to be charged to the Water Fund, was read, approved and adopted. Ordinance #122 relating to cigarette taxes was placed on First reading. It was pointed out to the Commission that the 1963 Tax Roll shows a new tax revenue increase of $1,336.00.• Real Estate Taxes •- $48,320.00, Personal Property Taxes - 02,936.00, Total - 4512256.00. The Commission authorized a salary of $325.00 per month for Harold J. Corbett, newly hired patrolman. -2- Deputy Town Clerk Gwynn reported that all the paving of streets in the Town as authorized by the Commission had been done, except for Palm Way and Middle Road. Mr. Fleming has made final inspec- tion and oked the work to date with a few minor items to be taken care of. Hardrives indicated they will finish Palm Way•and Middle Road in the next two weeks. When all work is completed, this will represent a total of $12,541.76 in improvements to the Townts streets. Mr. Iglehart stated that Hardrives had just completed the work to date and that the contracts were signed in May, 1963. He pointed out that they had continually delayed getting started with the work all summer long. He suggested that in the future the Town get at least two other bids for work to be done and that a time limit be imposed on each new job to come up. The Commission concurred. The Commission authorized Himes & Himes CPAts to begin work on the annual audit for the Fiscal year ended September 30, 1963. There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned.
