HomeMy Public PortalAbout17/02ORDINANCE NO. 17/02 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE TOWN CODE OF ORDINANCES AT CHAPTER 10, BUSINESSES, PROFESSIONS AND OCCUPATIONS, AT ARTICLE I, IN GENERAL, BY DELETING SECTION 10-1 OCCUPATIONAL REGISTRATION FEES IN ITS ENTIRETY; FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 10-2, REQUIRED REGISTRATION INFORMATION, TO BE RENAMED OCCUPATIONAL REGISTRATION AND RENUMBERED 10-1; ADDING A NEW SECTION 10-2 PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS Section 1. (1) Official name of the personi business entity; (2) The office, place of business, headquarters or usual meeting place of such persea-er business entity; (3) The officers, agents, employees or representatives of such person eF business entity; (4) The purpose of such business; (5) A copy of the business tax receipt from the county or municipality in which they are licensed if applicable; (6) A copy of the state certification if such applicant is a contractor or any other business regulated by the state; and (7) A certificate of insurance for workers' compensation or an exemption and liability insurance with the town as a certificate holder. (8) A copy of the business entity's vehicle registration(s). (b) All information obtained pursuant to this section shall be deemed public and subject to the inspection of any interested party at all reasonable business hours. (c) Upon the town's receipt of the required registration information, the town will issue the business entity an occupational registration and vehicle decal(s) to be displayed on the vehicle(s) registered to the business entity. Sec. 10-2. — Penalties. Failure to obtain an occupational registration properly display a vehicle decal or improper use of a vehicle decal, such as displaying a vehicle decal on a vehicle not registered to the business entity, shall subiect the offender to penalties through the town's code compliance procedure in accordance with the provisions of Florida Statutes Chapter 162 and the town code. In the event of a violation of this chapter, the town also reserves its rights to pursue any and all other legal remedies available to the town. Section 2. Severability. If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applications of this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared severable. Section 3. Repeal of Ordinances in Conflict. All other ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream, Florida, or parts thereof which conflict with this or any part of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. Codification. This Ordinance shall be codified and made a part of the official Code of Ordinances of the Town of Gulf Stream. Section 5. Effective Date. bylaw.
