HomeMy Public PortalAbout002-2016 - Appropriations - Salaries - MetroORDINANCE NO. 2-2016 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.61-2015 KNOWN AS THE 2016 SALARY ORDINANCE WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments, except police officers and firefighters, prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerk's office prior to November 1st for the ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments set forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office; except by amendment approved by Common Council. WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 61-2015 to establish salaries for the year 2016 and now finds it necessary to amend the salaries and position title within the Metropolitan Development department retro-actively to January 1, 2016. All other salaries and position titles remain the same. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that the following positioi be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2016, to wit: 2016 2016 Ill -Weekly Annual Salary Salary Division ofMetronoft= Development ——69,763.59 Director 2,307.69 60,000.00 City Planner 1,636.23 42,642.09 City Planner 1,807.69 47,000.00 TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME In addition to the positions set forth above, the Mayor and the City Department Heads may, as needed, hire and compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may range from $7.25 to $15.00 per hour. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION In addition to the salaries set forth above, certain employees, excluding members of the Board of Works, the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board, may be entitled to additional compensation, such, as overtime, compensation time, etc., and fringe benefits as set forth within the City of Richmond Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
