Held March 6, 1963 to canvass Election Returns

Mayor Dodson called the meeting to order and announced that the purpc
of the meetin!_ was to canvass the March 5, 1963 election returns.
Mr. LaPorte moved that the seal on the ballot box be broken, the ball
box be opened, and the certified results of the election be read and
accepted. Motion eas seconded and passed unanim ,)usly.
William E. Gwynn annourm d that there were 84 registured voters on the
rolls, that 100 ballots were printed and that 63 ballots were cast.
The certified results were road with the following results:

Hoyle
Iglehirt

It was thereupon determined by the Canvassin€ Board that the followir
men were duly elected to serve as Commissioners for three years
beginning March 19, 1963:
Curtis H. Dodson
John G. hart
J. Phil Hoyle
Stewart B. Iglehart
William S. LaPorte
It was unanimously agreed that the next Connissior. Meeting would be
held on Tuesday March 19, 1963 at 9:30 A.M. at the Town Hall. This
meeting to constitute the Re;rular Monthly Commission Meeting and the
Organizational Meeting to install ther New Commissioners.

MAYOR'S PROCLAMATION
CALLING TOWN ELECTION TO BE HELD
MARCH 5, 1963
WHEREAS, the Town Charter, Chapter 27579, Laws of Florida,
Acts of 1951, requires a town election to be held on the first
Tuesday in March, 1963, which is March 5, 1963; and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Town Commission to designate
a polling place and to appoint a clerk and inspectors of election
for the purpose of carrying on and conducting such elections;
1. An election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday,
March 5, 1963, for the purpose of electing five town commissioners
who will hold office for a term of three years beginning the third
Tuesday in March, 1963.
2. The Town Commission designated the Town Hall of the Town
of Gulf Stream, Florida, as the polling place for the holding of
said election, and thereby appointed the following clerk and ins-
pectors:
Clerk: Dorotha Davis Bauer
Inspectors Charles Turner
Florence Cramp
3. The election shall be held and the polling place shall
be open between the hours of 7:00 o1clock A.M. and 7:00 otclock
P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
4. Only qualified, registered voters of the Town of Gulf
Stream will be allowed to vote in this election.
5. Any person who desires to have his name placed upon the
official ballot shall file with the Town Clerk, at least 20 days
before such election is to be held, a petition signed by at least
four qualified electors of the Town re;uestin;,- such person to
become a candidate for such office.
6. A copy of this proclamation shall be posted on the
Town Bulletin Board at least 10 days before the election.
Each person who has been selected for clerk or inspector
is expected to be on hand promply at the polling place
named, on the day of the election and o serve.
