AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE,
AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Wayne County Emergency Management Agency has funding available through its
Homeland Security Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to obtain
funds that will be used to purchase equipment for hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction
response; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Fire Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the
Wayne County Emergency Management Agency.
2. The City of Richmond Fire Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Fifty-three Thousand Eight Hundred Thirteen Dollars and Sixty-five Cents (S 53, 813.65).
3. The grant funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to allow the Fire
Department to purchase equipment for hazardous material and weapons of mass destruction response.
Passed and adopted this _18th day of Au ust 2003, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
